"Give her back! She isn't a part of this, just please!" Loki's screams rang through the halls. His cries of pain and sorrow reached into the throne room. A tear fell down Odin's stony face. No matter how he tried to hide it behind a mask, everyone knew it was killing him inside to hear his adopted son like this.

"Father we must give the mortal back to him. He was finally getting better!" Thor pleaded to his father, but to no avail. Odin closed his eyes and shook his head.

"No," he said stoically. "This is his punishment for the crimes he had committed."

"So the mortal must suffer as well? What has she done wrong?"

Odin turned away from his eldest son. "You know this can't go without consequences."

Without another word, Odin waved his hand, signaling that the discussion was closed. Frustrated, Thor turned to leave, not seeing the tear falling from his father's face.

Another sob ripped through Loki's body as thoughts of her ran through his mind. Thoughts of her smile, her laugh, her soft lips. Then thoughts of her on the ground bleeding out, begging them to stop. And all because of him. It was all his fault. That she was in this damn mess, that she was taken from him, that she might not even be alive right now…

Those thoughts only made him angrier, but not only at her captors, but also at himself. He knew he was dangerous, and so did she, but she still broke down his wall, and he let her. Now look where it got them now: him on the floor screaming with her taken by the very father he had once loved. He was alone now, but she didn't deserve this, paying for his crimes. 'She deserved so much better,' Loki thought as he sobbed helplessly on the floor. He only wished for one thing: to see her face, those sparkling eyes, and that loving smile once more…
