Title: Dependence

Ratings: T

Summary: Yuki knew him longer but Sayori knew him better. One-Sided Yuki/Yori, and Kaname/Zero

She moved aside as Zero walked into her dorm room, exhausted. She wasn't surprised as he lay down on her bed.

"Did you see Kaname again? Did he speak to you?" she pried softly, sitting down on the bed. She gently placed his head on her lap while he rested.

A groan was her response and she didn't press it. Instead she continued to hold on to him.

Sayori sighed quietly. "I suppose you can't help the one you love. I knew that. That's why we're so alike."

No response. It was fine, Sayori didn't expect any.

"They're both very beautiful, Kaname and Yuki. No…I suppose cute suits Yuki more. Yes, so cute. She's very generous, isn't she? If you got to know her then it wouldn't be such a surprise to fall in love."

A mumble was heard. It sounded eerily like 'Is that your excuse?' Frowning a bit, he stood up and gentle wrapped his arms around her. It seemed like a hug but that wasn't the case.

He wanted warmth.

So, she responded in the same manner.

"Are you disappointed in me?" He asked. He seemed like such a child when he asked questions like that.

"Its fine, I'm not disappointed just scared, for you." she responded. Every time he rejected his own feelings, it meant his own sorrow. She didn't want that to happen to him. She hugged him tighter as she felt Zero's fingers cling on to her.

Anybody would be amazed to see them like this, Zero, so young and vulnerable and Yori, so motherly and protective. To the outside world, they barely talked and didn't care a damn about each other but that wasn't the case.

Their conversations started with their secret loves only. Zero was ashamed of himself for loving Kaname and Sayori didn't want to ruin hers and Yuki's friendship. Yori, being more controlled with her emotions was the first one to notice everything going on.

Zero confided with her and she with him. He told her how his parents were killed, about his twin brother and everything except him being a vampire. Not because he didn't trust her but because it wouldn't have mattered.

Zero rested as she ran her fingers through his hair. It was times like these that he could just relax. He never felt safe unless Yori was there. She was like a mother. More then his own was. His real mother cared only about his skills and use to the family. They once even talked if that was the real reason Ichiru left.

"I wish you wouldn't tell Yuki your feelings."

A startle look appeared on Yori's face. Before reaching out to look him in the eye.

"Why?"

"Because if you do then I'll be alone." That was true, he would be alone unless…unless…

"But what if you tell Kaname? Do you honestly think he'll reject you?"

Yes. Probably. Maybe.

"No."

Yori once more, ran her fingers through his soft, silvery hair.

"Maybe I'll tell Yuki then."

Zero gave a small smile. It was fun, thinking about it. It was also scary.

But, because of those feelings, he realized.

It was the very same reasons he depended on her.

Yay! I made it! Another Yori fic in the Vampire Knight section! This was based upon, believe it or not, Yori's name! The way her kanji is spelled is:

Sa-Sand

Yori-Dependence

Wakaba- New Leaves

But since everybody calls her Yori, I decided to use it. This was also inspired by my need to create something shojo-ai-ish!
