Dragons and Shinobi

Prologue: The Forbidden Jutsu

Darkness covered the whole leaf village only broken up by momentary flashes of light. In the training field, of the Hidden Leaf Village, Kakashi felt his sandals slide in the dirt. He was panting through his black mask which covered half of his face, and grimaced as he forced himself to take a deeper breath, feeling the skin stretch from the large gash in the middle of his chest. Sticky blood covered his green vest from the wound, and it was slowly dripping down to his pants. The wounded jonin ran a hand through his silver hair, feeling the sweat forming on his brow and head.

His teammates were not fairing much better. Naruto, the knuckle head of the group had just pushed himself off of the ground, after receiving yet again another blow. His knees buckled and his back slammed against the hard trunk of a tree. His bright blue eyes showed determination but they also reflected his pain. A cut was visible under his left eye but this wound was no where near as severe as the bleeding on his right arm. "Alright you creep!" Naruto began to yell, "you're going down this time for sure."

"Naruto, don't get carried away!" Kakashi called out to his student.

Naruto darted forward his eyes narrowing as he began to weave hand signs. His opponent was standing on top of a tree branch and watched Naruto through dark black eyes. Naruto brought his fist back as he propelled himself up the tree with his chakra, he was poised to bring his fist down on the enemy ninja in front of him but his enemy nearly laughed as he reached out towards Naruto. "You are too predictable Naruto," Kabuto laughed as he grabbed Naruto's fist and threw him over his shoulder sending Naruto flying out of the tree. Naruto hit the ground hard and rolled a couple feet before he stopped. Dazed, Naruto stayed completely still.

"Naruto," came the sharp voice from the only female member of the squad. "Why don't you try listening to our sensei for once?" Sakura brought her hands up to her chest, interlocking her fingers and scanning the field with her emerald greed eyes. She had a small cut on her left cheek, but other than that she remained unscathed.

Naruto made a deep groaning sound as he began to push himself up. His eyes were watering as he looked up at Kabuto. Sakura's words had fallen on deaf ears. "Err, why you little!" Naruto screamed. His eyes began to turn a fire red red and the birth marks, that were shaped like whiskers, were becoming more visible on his cheeks. Fangs began to form in his mouth making him look more like a rabid animal than a human being. He was about to make another attack but Kabuto merely cut a small rope to his left. "Whah?" Naruto screeched as a trap net grabbed Naruto from under his feet and left him dangling in the air.

"Sorry Naruto, not to sound hasty or anything, but we came for Uchiha, and you are getting in the way," Kabuto said as he turned to face the Raven haired boy. Sasuke was fighting another sound ninja, dodging his blows and looking for an opening.

"You leave Sasuke alone you creep!" Sakura screamed. She threw three kunai at Kabuto but Kaubuto merely sidestepped out of the way.

Sasuke landed a hard hit on the ribs against the sound ninja that he was facing. His opponent fell on the ground with a hard thud followed by a loud moan. Sakura's loud squeal caught his attention and he quickly turned around. Kabuto and Sakura were locked in a match of traps and jutsu, but none of them were hitting their mark. In actuality, it just looked like Kabuto was toying with her. Sasuke grit his teeth, if they didn't do something fast, then this game would turn into something much worse.

A dark form began to manifest behind Kabuto. Sasuke could feel his skin crawl as the unmistakable cold voice slithered over the training field. "Kabuto, we need to do it now!"

Kakashi ran until he was about three yards from Sasuke then stopped. His one visible eyes narrowed as Orochimaru's slender form came into view. The sanin's eyes were locked on Sasuke, a sick lust filled them. "Orochimaru, you snake," Kakashi growled, clenching his fists, "get the hell out of our village!"

"Heh, heh." Orochimaru began to laugh, a wicked grin pulling the corners of his mouth. "Well, well Kakashi, aren't you tense? Don't worry, this will be over soon."

"Right," Kabuto muttered as he stepped forward and began to weave intricate hand signs.

Sasuke darted towards Kabuto as he pulled a kunai out of its holster. He is not going to get away with whatever he is planning.

"Sasuke! Stop," Kakashi yelled as he ran after Sasuke. Fear twisted his stomach and caused his heart to pound in his ears. If Kabuto's jutsu landed, there was no telling how catastrophic the damage could be, and Sasuke was mindlessly running right into it.

Kabuto felt his hands slip on one of the hand signs, but out of pure anxiousness to finish the jutsu before Sasuke could get to him he continued to weave hand signs. This would create consequences that would take more than courage to overcome.

(Well, that's the end of the prologue! Now don't look sad, the next chapter will be up soon, and again I apologize for the review thing and I hope that this prologue is much better.)
