Just a random foray for the writer in me. This is just a little piece I wanted to add to the end of Born to Run. Hope you all like it.

"Janie," Angela Rizzoli hugged her daughter again, "We're so proud of you girls!"
"Thanks, Ma." Jane smiled as she pulled away and glanced at Maura who was caught up in conversation with her baby brother, Frankie.
Angela nudged her daughter in the ribs with her elbow, "Ya could've kissed her ya know?"
"Ma!" Jane raised her hands and backed away a few steps, "Completely inappropriate."
"What's inappropriate? You two are a couple and it's not like I haven't pulled Maura's underwear from between your couch cushions. Unless you suddenly have a proclivity for that lace you said always made you itch."
"MOTHER!" Jane growled as she ran a hand through her tangled, sweaty hair, "One, maybe I do have a sudden proclivity for lacy things. Two, you need to stop cleaning my apartment!"
Angela gasped, "Jane Francis Rizzoli, are you embarassed to kiss your girlfriend in public?"
"I'm NOT embarassed," She spoke through gritted teeth, "Excuse me for thinking my family doesn't want to see me play tonsil hockey with my girl!"
"Actually," Maura interrupted, "I had my tonsils removed when I was eleven. Very bad case of tonsillitis. So that term doesn't technically apply."
Jane glanced around and realized that her father and brother had also meandered over. Releasing a slow breath, she crossed to where Maura stood on the pavement and her fingers tangled into the blond's sweaty curls she had let down as their lips met. The kiss was fiery and passionate yet languidly smooth and didn't last long before they separated.
"Huh," Maura mumbled, dumbfounded.
Jane breathed, "Apparently, we don't do that enough."
"Oh," Maura mumbled, already pulling the brunette in for another kiss, "Guess we'll have to fix that."
