Prompts: Neighbor!AU; criminal & impromptu; Lucius/Narcissa

"This seems very impromptu," Narcissa asked, barely stifling her grin at how nervous Lucius looked. She liked her new neighbor more each time she interacted with him. He had seemed very high and elite at first glance, like much of her family, but it was clear that he was not really.

"Well," he said, sounding close to hyperventilating. "Do you want to?"

"Do I want to go on a date with you?" Narcissa reinterred. Lucius looked like a bobble-head, he was nodding so hard and fast.

He truly was adorable. How could she be so blind to miss it at first?

"I would love too," she said just as soon as Lucius said, "You know what, this was stupid. Forget I ever said anything."

Narcissa couldn't hide her grin anymore when he registered those words. He turned to look at her, shock evident in his features. Honestly, did he have such a low opinion on himself that he couldn't fathom the thought that she would like him? Or was it that he had such a high opinion of her?

Whatever it was, she intended to make it clear that neither should be the case.

"So," he said, his voice hoarse and his eyes wide, "What time? What restaurant?"

"Hmm," Narcissa said thoughtfully. "My cousin, the almost criminal I told you about, has a good friend that owns a nice restaurant, and is rather good cook I must say. It's called 'M Café'. How about we meet right here at 8?"

Lucius nodded. "Mailboxes at 8," he said, his voice still sounding like it was in a daze. "That sounds lovely."

He walked back to his house, and Narcissa watched him go. It was quite a lovely view.

Before she could get back to her's, she heard a loud whoop coming from his.

She couldn't remember what it was like not wanting to smile.
