Prologue

She was a model. A supermodel to be precise. A seemingly vain profession, it had started as a means to keep a roof over her head and developed into something more, something she enjoyed.

Many think that being a supermodel is easy, just smiling pretty for the camera, stripping and partying till the sun comes up.

They couldn't be more wrong.

Being a model was hard. You have to rearrange your life and your lifestyle just to be considered as a model, freeing whatever plans you made in your free time, watching what you eat and exercising every day of the week. It was hard. Physically and socially. But it was also hard mentally too.

When people first start, they never think that you'd have to actually think. No, everybody assumes that we're dumb but being in the fashion industry is tough, dirty and gritty.

You have to be willing to fight, plan and manipulate every single little detail and event to work out in your favour, and when you do all that, maybe, just maybe, you might get a photoshoot or two.

No, to be a supermodel, you have to be amazing. And Elena was proud to say that, yes, she was amazing. Perhaps it was vanity, she called it self confidence, whatever it was, whatever she had, there were 23 other people in the world with similar properties, and it was these 23 that Elena was staying with for the next year or so.

Why? Because somebody rich and powerful, powerful enough to practically kidnap 24 highly talented, highly protected and incredibly famous supermodels, decided to place all 24 of them in an apartment building.

Not only that, but every month, a contest was held and a boy and girl were eliminated from the complex, two by two until eventually, one girl and one guy is left and they became the world's top supermodels, as well as $100 million.

An amazing opportunity right? Unfortunately, there was a catch. To get to the top, you have to survive in an environment of equally manipulative, beautiful creatures. There have been a few cases of deaths within the building, caused by the other participants, but nobody was arrested because laws didn't really seem to apply inside the building.

To be honest. Elena didn't want to participate at all. However, as already stated, they practically kidnapped you and that was why she found herself standing in front of the apartments along with 23 others and an uncountable number of suitcases surrounding them, listening to this old man and woman talk about how lucky they were to have had the opportunity to win.

Bullshit.

They could spin it however they want but there was only one thing she cared about and it wasn't the money.

It was leaving the apartments with all limbs intact.
