Emma ran into Granny's for shelter, when she walked in she removed a scarf that had been wrapped around her chapped lips and red nose. She looked down to stomp the snow off her boots before she looked up to see a ghost town.

All Emma saw was Ruby sitting behind the counter wearing more clothes than usual for her, anyone would in this cold. Emma walked over to the bar and sat on a spinning stool, causing Ruby to look up.

"Hey." Ruby said happily exchanging a smile with her friend. "What it be?"

"Hot Chocolate with whip cream and cinnamon please."

"Come'n right up."

"Business slow today." Emma started small talk as Ruby made the coco.

"Yeah everyone's probably having home cooked meals and eggnog at home we had a lot of pick-ups and drop off orders today though."

"Hmm, unusual, wonder why that is." Emma pondered.

"Not to unusual. It's Christmas Eve after all, we don't get a lot of business, more now than ever since the curse broke a lot of people want to spend it with their families. As it is Granny and I are closing early to spend some time together."

"Wow, Christmas already." Emma ran her fingers through her hair.

"You sound surprised." Ruby waltzed back to Emma and placed the coco in front of her.

"I am. Guess I lost track of days." Emma took a finger full of whip cream and put it in her mouth before she grasped the mug with both hands, taking in the warmth for a moment and the taking a sip that moistened her lips.

"You did get Henry somthing?"

"Hmm, oh yeah yeah." Emma swallowed and sighed a warm breath as her throat became warmer than the rest of her. "I had Marco make him a new wooden sword with his initials engraved into it and Henry couldn't keep Pongo I convinced Archie to give Henry one of Pongo and Predita's puppies we can pick it up in a few weeks."

"REALLY?!" Ruby and Emma's heads shot up and looked towards an elated twelve-year old who'd just come in the diner.

"Well, so much for the surprise," Emma said under her breath to Ruby, as she put down her mug ."Hey, kid. Just get off the bus?" Henry eyed her Hot Chocolate.

"Yeah, Can I have one too."

"Sure Henry." Ruby said pushing off the counter to go make more coco.

"So we really get a dog?" He asked hoping up to the seat.

"If you want. It's gonna have to stay with Mary-Margret and David at their house since I'm the sheriff I'm out of the loft to much to watch it."

"That's awesome! I'm have to think of a name for it we can brainstorm tomorrow."

"Sure thing, kid."

"Are you sure your okay with me going to Regina's tonight? I mean this would be are first Christmas together."

"It's fine Henry. Trust me I get it after everything that happened in Neverland you want to have a little of your normal life back."

"Yeah, but I still don't want you to be alone on Christmas Eve."

"Its okay Henry really I've spent plenty of Christmases alone what's one more year its not like its our last Christmas besides we'll hang tomorrow afternoon, the whole family's getting together for Christmas dinner."

"Still I thought Grandma and Grandpa would want to spend tonight with you." Henry Grasp the mug Ruby brought to him before she went though the door to the motel.

"Nah, Snow's to busy getting ready for the new baby they don't have time."

"What about Neal?" Henry said hopefully with a half smirk.

"Don't think so." Emma nudged him knowing full well she and Neal were never getting back together like ever. "I'll be fine you have fun with Regina," Emma glanced at the clock on the wall. "Speaking of which we better get going I got to get you over there." Henry sucked down the last of his hot coco and followed his mother out the door.

Before they knew it they'd reached Regina's. Regina came out the door greet Henry who ran up the walk toward her after hugging Emma and telling her Merry Christmas. Emma waved to Regina, before they went inside and Emma headed to the loft.
