Waiting for an owner by FallenWizard
His unnatural blue hair was turned green by the lights which were strung along all the shops. His ragged clothes would have done a bad job keeping him warm, if he could have lost heat and become cold. His green eyes went from face to face watching the joy of people and there persocoms as they passed. Had he been human he would have felt the sting of loneliness.
As he walked something stopped in front of him and he slowly looked up.
There stood a little girl and in her hands she held a clover. "Here mista, if you not wearing gween you gonna get pinched." Her kind innocents made his programming skip a very long segment of code.
"Um... thank you?" Yorie replied uncertainly. The girl smiled and ran off.
Yorie stood in the middle of the sidewalk, people walked around him frowning and talking of the broken unit, but he didn't care.
The clover spun in his hands and his files kicked in showing him another person, corrosion had made it impossible to remember if it was a man or woman, a gentle hand coming up to stroke his cheek. Those where the days when his sensors had been new and he could almost feel the clovers against his back as they laid down in the field and stared up at the clouds.
Slowly he woke from his daydream and watched people
passing. He placed the clover in his hair above his ear and wiped a
small tear
from
his robotic duct, then began walking once more with much more power
and joy in his steps.
