THE CONFESSION,
written by Whipper
Destroying the photo of herself and her mother had been an act born out of anger.
No, not anger, she corrected herself. Angry was the emotion you felt when you realized that you had lost your wallet or when your pasta sauce burned. Angry was a word for ordinary things. And "ordinary" was hardly the right word for her new Bristow family crisis. What she felt was such a strange mix of thoughts and emotions that it almost overwhelmed her with it's intensity. Maybe there wasn't even a word for it. Although, if there was a word she was convinced her father knew it.
Reaching for the hatbox, a treausured memory from her so called "mother", she picked up another photo. One with her parents hugging her hard as someone else (Arvin Sloane?) took a picture of the young, happy family.
"It's all so very hard to believe," she told the smiling woman in the photograph. "That I've spent so many nights crying, grieving for someone who never even existed. So much time spent trying to be closer to you; trying to become someone you would be proud of. I've waisted so much... "
Tears. Love. Time.
And all for nothing.
