DM Edith's Anger Issues
Things were not going well for Gru today. Edith for some reason was being rather difficult for some strange reason. She didn't want to get out of bed. She was wriggling and wriggling without stopping once.
''Edith stop this nonsense!'' Gru snapped ''Why are you being so silly today? But Edith just threw her pillow and her duvet at him which luckily they both missed him.
Gru looked at Edith who was tingling away in bed, ''I feel so fatigue!'' Edith moaned kicking her legs ''my head is banging, my chest feels tight and I just want to lie still''.
''Ok, ok'' Gru said ''Try at least to eat some breakfast, but other than dat, Why don't you take it easy and I'll take you to de doctor later?". ''Ok'' Edith mumbled.
Gru's plan to take Edith to the doctor proved to be a good one as Edith looked like she was about to have a wobbler. She had Asperger's Syndrome true, but that didn't necessarily because wobblers could it?
Edith read a book about trains while she waited for her turn in the waiting room of the doctor's surgery. It took quite a few minutes to be have her name called.
Gru told the doctor all about Edith's behaviour from much earlier in the day. ''Headaches, chest tightness and fatigue, hmm, Sounds like your daughter is having some serve anger issues'' the doctor said thoughtfully ''could there be any cause to it?''. ''Well she does suffer from Asperger's Syndrome'' Gru confessed.
''So that must be it'' the doctor said ''People with autism or Asperger's Syndrome are just so very well known to have anger issues''. ''Is dere anything to cure Edith's anger?'' Gru asked, hopefully.
''Well you can make an anger management plan or avoid "all or nothing" thinking. Avoid situations that make you angry, let go of grudges, Try exercising, and Reset your emotions with a good night's sleep, Try meditation, Don't get discouraged if you relapse'' the doctor said.
''We'll try exercise'' Gru decided ''Goodbye doctor and thanks. Come on Edith'' he added turning to his daughter. ''Goodbye Mr Gru'' the doctor replied. On the way home, Gru said to Edith ''How about a visit to a health club and spa? I believe eet might help to soothe your feelings''.
''What's a spa?'' Edith asked curiously. ''You'll find out soon enough'' Gru said ''the things they have dere are meant to make you feel very relaxed. When they got there, Edith was very surprised when she was told to go and get changed into her swimming costume [Gru had secretly brought it and his swimming trunks with them].
But she was soon to find out why. Gru led her to the side of a round shaped pool of water that was all bubbling on the edge of a larger swimming pool which also had a row of lounge chairs all around it. Gru and Edith sat in the bubbly pool which Gru said was a hot tub, but it could also be called a Jacuzzi.
Edith couldn't remember how lovely it was to feel relaxed. But the warm water made her feel very comfortable. ''Awesome!'' she said ''Thank you for bringing me here'', she paused looking thoughtful suddenly ''Oh uh I'm er sorry for throwing my bed and duvet at you this morning''.
''Your welcome spurt and I'll forgive you dis time'' Gru replied ''But you mustn't do eet again understand?''. ''Yes I understand'' Edith said confidently. This was one of those moments between Gru and Edith that no one else would share.
The End.
