A Hole to Trabia
"Seifer!" The little boy called to his older companion.
"Whuddya want?" The older boy asked, slightly annoyed.
"You pwomised to help me you'd help finish the hole to Trabia today!" his brown eyes pleading his blonde friend to say yes.
"I don' wanna"
"But you promised!"
"I said I don' wanna!"
"You hafta, Seifer! You pwomised!"
"What are you two arguing about in there?" Matron called from the other room.
"Nothin'" both boys said in unison.
"Seifer, you did promise Squall you'd help him, so do it. I'm not raising you to break your promises." Matron said firmly, yet gently.
The blonde boy sighed. "Yes, Matwon." And glumly followed the near bouncing boy outside.
The older boy sighed. "Awright, I guess..." The friends both got up from where they were sitting and went out side in the sand. When they got there they noticed that the hole they had dug the other day had been filled with sand again. The younger boy stared at the space where their hole used to be. Crestfallen he sat down where he stood. " 's alwight Squall." The older boy said. "We'll make a bigger one today, maybe we'll reach Galbadia today!" He grabbed his friends arm, pulling him up. They both ran over to the sand and started digging.
About an hour later, both boys tired, they stopped. They sat down staring at the seemingly endless ocean. It was Squall who spoke first. "Y'know what, I jus' remembered a story Sis tol' me once. It was about a King, and his knight." He sighed, remembering Sis, his Sis. Then Squall went on about the story of the king and his mighty knight. "When I grow up," He continued, "I wanna be a king." He dug his toes into the sand. "Now... All I need is a knight." He looked over at his friend who was looking at the sand.
The older boy put his arm around his friend and laughed. "Don' worry Squall, I'll be your knight." He picked up the stick he was using to dig with and pointed it up at the sky until his friend laughed.
