"Daddy! Daddy!" Isabella screamed, tearing into the room at full throttle, a floppy stuffed dog clutched by an ear in her small hand. She tossed the dog up onto the bed and he landed haphazardly on her father. "Wake up, wake up!" a tiny little disembodied voice chirped and a raven-haired head appeared at the side of the bed.
Bobby looked down at the girl and smiled. "I'm awake, Izzibear."
She smiled and climbed onto the bed and sat on his stomach, putting the dog on Bobby's face. He made a noise and moved the dog away as the little girl giggled.
"Mommy says you're a son of a -," she started to say, but he clamped a hand over her mouth to keep her from finishing her sentence.
"Don't repeat what Mommy says," he told her, smiling a bit. She nodded eagerly.
From the doorway, Andy said, "She gets that from you."
Izzi turned around excitedly and shouted, "Mommy!"
Bobby shifted a little bit so he could see Andy, smiling a little bit. "I'm sorry," he said.
"Come here, Mommy!" Izzi demanded.
Andy sighed. It had been a stupid argument and she'd get over it. He seemed to have already done that. Unfolding her arms, she pushed off the doorframe and walked over to them.
"You're lucky she's cute," she said to Bobby as she climbed on the bed. She lay down beside him, her hand on his chest, and rested her head on his shoulder.
"Yeah, I am."
Izzi watched her parents and frowned. "Mommy, Daddy is mine," she said as she slid off Bobby. She wiggled her way between them, slipping under her mother's arm. "Go find your own," she added, pouting.
Andy laughed as she nuzzled the back of her daughter's neck. Laughing too, Bobby rolled onto his side and started to tickle the little girl. Izzi squealed and erupted into a fit of giggles, trying to squirm away from him.
"She gets that from you, too," Andy chuckled, moving her face out of the way of Izzi's flailing elbows.
Bobby stopped and sat up. "Hey Izzibear," he whispered.
"What?" she said curiously and breathily, not having mastered the whisper yet.
"Come here."
She sat up and planted a hand on his knee so she was face to face with him. He whispered something in her ear. She turned around a bit and pointed at Andy's leg.
"That?" she asked in the best whisper she could do. Andy looked down at her leg and raised an eyebrow.
"I knew shorts were a bad idea," she said.
Bobby nodded at Isabella. "Yeah, that," he whispered back.
Isabella crawled over to Andy and started to tickle the shark tattoo on Andy's calf. It was the only spot where she was ticklish. She laughed hysterically and tried to pull her leg away from Izzi, but the little girl followed.
"She gets that from me, also," Bobby said, grinning.
