Prussia had always been first.

First was the best and, therefore, he had always been exactly that.

As a child, he had made the other countries fear hi, as the first or "best" military power. Even when they told him he wasn't the strongest, he made them think otherwise. If he wasn't first, then why did Hungary come to him for military help? He was her first friend no matter how much she denied it, that's for sure. But that only confirmed his permanent place in the "first" position.

Prussia was always first.

When the Ottoman Empire had conquered parts of Hungary, Prussia was the first to try and the last to give up on helping her. He was the best because not only that but he recaptured Buda for her.

Prussia was always first.

When Hungary started developing into a woman, he had been the first to realize her gender. Hell, he figured it out before she did. Coincidentally, that also meant that he was the first to grope her chest, a fact that had previously distressed him, but that was irrelevant.

Prussia was always first.

When Hungary wanted to play in the fields or discovered something cool, he was the first she grabbed to show.

He was the first person she "held hands" with for that reason.

When they had slipped down that hill, barely old enough to look like teenagers, and landed in a tangle of limbs, he was the first to notice that somewhere along the way their mouths had made a connection. He was the first to scramble away, as well. Thinking back on it, maybe he should've been the first to move forward but he couldn't change that.

Prussia was always first.

When Hungary had decided to start acting like a woman, he was the first to support her, albeit it was immediately after an awkward memory relapse involving a crotch-cloth, but again that was irrelevant. He was the first to try to bandage her wounds, the first to give her something to cover up.

He had always been there by her side, first and foremost her friend and protector.

He was the first to realize that he had fallen for the wild girl and he had wanted to be the first to declare that sort of affection to her.

However, as he stood back and watched her walk down that aisle towards another man he couldn't help but wonder where he had gone wrong.

If he had always been there why wasn't he waiting at the end of that aisle?

Why wasn't he the first to make a move?

No, Prussia had always been first; but, maybe that's why he was the first person she left behind.

Hello friends. Just a little drabbley goodness of a sort of PruHun here. Don't mind it. I love you guys thanks for reading! Please review!
