"And don't steal my pillow this time!"

"Honestly, cupcake, you can't accuse me of stealing your belongings every time you leave the room. It's getting repetitive," drawled Carmilla, raising one eyebrow.

"Just-" Laura threw her hands up in frustration. "Behave yourself!" She swung around and flounced into the bathroom, slamming the door behind her with deliberation. Carmilla smirked a little in amusement. Watching Laura get frustrated was almost as much fun as- well, at the moment it was all the fun she had. She swung her legs off her bed as the shower in the bathroom was turned on, and leant across to snatch the yellow pillow.

Honestly, she didn't know why she did it; it was just so fun to wind little Nancy Drew up. Easy, too.

A noise interrupted her train of thoughts. It sounded like it was coming from the bathroom.

She listened a little harder.

"I was in your sights, you got me alone,"

Was that...singing?

The noise got a little louder.

"You fou-ou-ou-ound me" Carmilla winced. The cupcake was definitely...trying...to sing, but it was not good. Not at all. The smirk crept back on her face as she listened.

"The blame is on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," Not good at all. But...kind of cute.

Wait, did she seriously just think that? Of course, the little nerd had her own kind of...charm, with the manic energy she had, the stupid vlogs, the cute smiles...

Oh no. No way. No way did she have an actual crush on little miss Scotland Yard.

"Now I'm lying on the cold hard groundOH OOOOOOOOOOOOOHH TROUBLE TROUBLE TROUBLE," Carmilla held back a chuckle and bit the inside of her lip.

Oh crap.

This couldn't be real, could it? She hadn't felt like this since...well, for centuries. She must be mistaken... she must be.

The shower shut off and the singing dwindled to humming. Carmilla composed herself, grabbed a book and laid back onto Laura's pillow.

The bathroom door swung open and Laura stepped into the room, towelling her hair.

"I knew you would take my pillow!" she said, grabbing it from behind her, her hair swinging in front of Carmilla's face as she did so. Carmilla pursed her lips.

"Well, you just know everything, don't you cupcake?" she replied. She glanced over at Laura and a burst of affection caught her off guard.

She stood up suddenly. Laura looked up at her.

"Where are you going? Off to find another study buddy?" She asked bitterly. Carm raised her eyebrows.

"I'm going to try and read somewhere that nobody disturbs me." She swept out of the room, barely even noticing Laura calling after her:

"You left your book!"
