It was a cloudy day in Beacon Hills as Derek pulled up to the destination; Beacon Hills High. Stiles was rambling incessantly about the online video gaming community and some newly enforced rules, and Scott was lost in space, rapidly texting on his phone to Alison no doubt. Derek breathed a sigh of relief to finally be rid of this drabble. Mentally he was slapping himself for having agreed to this arrangement for a whole week. A part, a very small part felt bad because it was his fault the tires to Stiles' blue jeep were flattened. Two more days, he thought to himself and smirked. As Stiles opened the passenger door to exit and release Scott from the back seat, Derek heard tires squeal and in a split second his beloved camero jerked forward.
"WOAH dude, what the hell" Stiles began shouting at the driver of a burgundy SUV who was in turn yelling at Stiles and the person in the passenger seat. Derek clenched the steering wheel, taking in a deep breath and trying to remain calm. He smoothly opened the door to assess the damage and attempt to not murder the culprit.
"I'm so sorry about that, I was giving my son a pep talk about his first day and just wasn't paying attention. I'm sure my insurance will cover this no problem what so ever" the driver of the SUV said while he handed him a card.
Derek nodded his head "I hope so".
"The names Giovanni Mercurio and this is my son Alex", Giovanni motioned to a boy who seemed to be barely phased by the minor accident that took place. The bell rang, and Scott and Stiles who were watching and placing bets on if Derek would rip his head off turned and took off after a mumbling a quick thank you and see ya. Alex turned and walked casually away with out acknowleging his father or derek. The two men exchanged infomation quickly to Dereks relief and parted ways. As Derek was driving home his mind wondered to other things failing to notice that a burgandy SUV was following far behind him.
Alex stopped in the restroom before he entered the office to pick up his schedule and no doubt escorted to his first class where he would probably be paraded around. The new kid is always subjected to that horror. He splashed some water on his face and looked into his reflection, his dark brown eyes looked back at him. His olive skin was smooth, unable to grow facial hair he sighed curly black hair framed his face. His grandmother always told him he looked like a glass doll. Throwing his bag around his shoulder he exited the high school bathroom, and made way to the office.
"Hello" he mumbled as he approuched a red head sitting at the desk "My name is Alexander Mercurio, I'm a new student here from LA, I needed to pick up my schedule".
"Alright Mr. Mercurio, I have your paper work right here actually" she said as she stood up "I'll walk you to your first class and from there I'm sure any one of our students will be more than helpful should you require it". The walk to home room was quiet except for the clacking of the red heads heels and the thump of his black boots. When he walked in to class he muttered a quick thank you and took his schedule over to a older woman who had a stern look on her face.
"Class this is our new student, Alexander Mercurio" She introduced as he stoof upfront the class tugging on his Hugo Boss black v-neck. "Care to introduce yourself to the class dear".
"I go by Alex, I'm from LA, my parents travel alot for work and we move around alot" He said quickly wishing to only take his seat. As he looked around he saw the familiar faces of the guys who were in the black camaro his father rear ended. He felt his ears grow warm and he saw the looking at his exchanging words. The teacher allowed him to take a seat, he chose a seat in the second row to the back, pulled out a note book and began doodling as the class spoke umongst themselves. Home room was open period, nice...
School was uneventful and boring. Typical new kid treatment. The usual questions about his background, parents, previous schools and what he drove. The popular kids gauging to see if he was worthy of a chair at their table. He didnt care. He wore labels, he had a black BMW, and a big house but that was because he enjoyed the lush things in life. His family worked hard as did he but he never had the need to justify himself to any one. As the school day ended he walked to the curb his Iphone chirped –Hey going to be late sorry got held up in a meeting at a new office walk home or bus? Xo Mom- He let out a huge sigh, He argued with his parents to let him drive his car from LA to here but no they will ship it. He didnt know the bus assignment and figured he would walk. Its only afew blocks anyway he thought. When his mini journey began thats when the rain started. 'Great' he thought and continued on.
"Hey, Isn't that the new kid Alex" Stiles pointed out reaching over Derek "Dude pull over lets give him a ride".
Derek rolled his eyes and scoffed "Seriously think I want to give a kid who is drentched a ride home not to mention that his father rearended me and then talked my ear off"
"awww come on Derek, He's new here and its really raining hard" Stiles continued to whine. As Derek made a u-turn Stiles shouted in victory.
"Hey do you want a ride" Derek grumbled as he cracked his window. The kid, Alex raised an eye brow before giving a quick nod.
Derek pulled the seat up to let him in, the soaked teen quickly slid in. "Um thank you for offering me the ride I appreciate it".
"Don't mention it man" Stiles proceeded to talk "I'm Stiles and this is Derek". Derek remained silent while the two teens chatted between themselves only butting in to ask directions to Alex's house. He kept taking glances in the rear veiw mirror, Alex was handsome but not in a rugged way. He was poised and good posture. His scent was intoxicating magnified by the rain water that drenched him. Derek snapped his head from those thoughts, what in the hell was he thinking. There was something about this Alex, that made his stomach jump. Pursing his lips as he pulled up to Stiles' house he grew nervous at the thought of being alone with him. Derek Hale? Nervous. What a thought. Stiles said a quick Good bye to Derek and an Ill catch you tomorrow to Alex.
"Should I jump into the front seat?" Alex asked "I dont want to get your interior wet".
"Its leather, I can wipe it off" Derek said trying to keep it short and to the point. He didnt want to drag anything out. Alex quickly moved up to the front seat and Derek caught a whiff of him again. This was going to be hard...
