I wrote this ridiculous travesty for school (we were asked to "musical-ize" a famous movie scene). As I sat down to write it, the tune that for whatever reason came into my head was the song from Beauty and the Beast when they're feeding birds in the snow and she's wearing that pink dress.
verse 1
There's something odd—a little pain;
My consciousness I am not sure I can sustain.
But never mind—a little snack,
And soon enough to my old self I will be back.
verse 2
I feel unwell—I'm sure I'll faint.
Against this food my body raises great complaint.
But that's not it—I'm tasting blood;
My head's just hit the table with a jarring thud.
chorus
Neeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww and a bit alarming;
Who'd have ever thought that this could beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?
Truuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuue that he's no Prince Charming...
I love you though you don't take after meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
verse 3
My only son, well bless my soul,
You came with no regard for prescribed birth control.
And yet I'm glad; make Daddy proud.
I'll be watching you from far beyond the shroud. (repeat & fade)
I'll freely admit that this is the only scene of this movie I have actually seen, so if anything seems at all "off", that's why. Clearly my calling is bittersweet poetry about men dying in childbirth
