Disclaimer: Obviously, I don't own Silent Hill – even with my other stories I have written, Konami just won't hand it over. Pay attention to this disclaimer, cos, uh, I may forget on other chapters. Also, forgive me, it has been a looong time since I have written a FanFic – I'm talking 6-7 years.
The fog covered the town outside the window. It was a rare occasion when you could see the trees outside the entrance. Laura sat and hoped that one day she'd be able to see Mary again. She just disappeared without saying goodbye. She also hoped she'd be let outside again, especially after last time. It was so small and cramped in her small hospital room. There wasn't much to do, apart from play with her collection of teddy bears.
She sat on her bed and stared out the window a bit more. She could see shadows moving through the fog. Whenever one passed she hoped it was Mary or someone coming to visit her. It got very lonely just sitting in that room all day. Suddenly, Laura's belly started to gurgle. "Boy am I hungry".
She climbed off of her bed and walked towards the door to go ask a nurse for some lunch. She grabbed a letter out of the drawer next to her bed, she never goes anywhere without it, it was her last memory of Mary. As she got to the door, she heard someone groaning. It wasn't unusual to hear people moaning and groaning, but this groan, it was different, something unlike before. It startled Laura.
She reached for the door handle and turned it, half expecting it to be locked, which happens on occasion when something happens with one of the patients that could harm another patient. The door opened, but the hallway was empty. Usually there are at least two nurses there, walking up and down making sure everyone is alright and not doing something they shouldn't. Laura crept towards the exit to the patient wing, hoping she could sneak out to the kitchen on the first floor, like she had done a few times before. The chef down there had come to like Laura and would feed her when she went down there.
The door to the hallway opened and she went down stairs to the kitchen, she tried to open the door, but it was locked and wouldn't budge. The kitchen was never locked, so this was odd. "Maybe I'll go to Happy Burger. If I can leave that is..".
Despite being seven Laura knew her way around Silent Hill like the back of her hand, she also had some money she had been saving in her pocket, perfect for a kids meal. She headed towards the main entrance, when she heard a noise, like someone being tortured. She ran towards the door and hoped it would open. She pushed down the bar and it opened.
