My parents were in a car accedent a week ago. Ever since then the six of us have spent every possible second at the hospital.
"You know, I read somewhere that if you talk to someone in a coma, it makes them wake up. It makes them realize whats important." Those words ran through my head over and over. My uncle's voice echoing in my eardrums.
"I'll be right back." I said practically inaudible. I walked down the hallway into a blinding white room, containing two beds along with two still bodies. I walked into the space between the beds. tears were stinging my eyes, threatening to roll down my warm cheeks.
"Hi mom, dad how are you? Well that was a stupid question, i can see how you're doing. We miss you, you need to wake up soon. I need to talk to you I need to apologize, I want to take back every negative, hurtful thing I've ever said to either one of you and when you wake up I will. When I see your sparkling blue eyes and see yoiu glowing smiles and hear your voices it will be the happiest moment of my life. Oh, and I will never take either one of you for granted ever again. One last thing and probably the most important thing you need to hear right now, I love you."
By now my eyes ere puffy, red and blood-shot from to much crying and lack of sleep.
"Let's go guys." We left the hospital and went to aunt Haley's and Uncle Nathan's house. We were staying there. We are staying there while our parent's are in the hospital. It's pretty tight because along with us six kids, my aunt and uncle they also have five kids of their own. It's alot... I know. Oh and they have another on the way... Due in July and It's January now.
The next day I went to school, business as usual. 4th perriod I got sent to the principal's office
" What did I do now?" I asked this as if it wasn't unusual because it's not. I average six to 10 visits a week
" Nothing." Principal Turner's face was more serious than usual
"Well then why did you call me down here?"
" I'm sorry, the doctor's did all they could."
"No."
"They're gone. They just gave up. Stopped trying."
" No they can't be gone... They have to come back!" My words just dumped out of my mouth like water our of a bucket.
"Your aunt and uncle are on their way to come get you and your siblings." Principal Turner said showing no emotion, i could tell he was trying not to cry. Because along with being my pricipal he was also a good friend of my parents. I went and got my things and met up with Carter my older brother in the main office. Silence once again engulfed us in sorrow. For two kids that always had something to say, suddenly no words seemed to come to my mind. No workds seemed to be enough to explain what happened. No workds could fill the void where my parents used to be. It couldn't ease the pain that wasn't there three weeks ago.
Carter's husky but distraught voice broke the silence:
" Will it ever go away?"
"What?" I replied just as bluntly not even turning to look at my brother's face.
"The pain"
Hesitantly I replied
"Probably not."
