It was one of those ordinary training days. They got up out of their beds from their own homes, and met up at training ground number seven. They would brush their teeth, eat their breakfast, say bye to their respective families, and meet up at exactly eight o'clock in the morning.

It was one of those ordinary sparring routines. The Beautiful Green Beast of Konoha would fight Neji, only to lose to his eternal rival.

Then he would fight the weapons mistress. And the match would crawl to a standstill, such that it would be a waste of time to pursue the outcome any further. Just long enough to get the muscles going.

Then it would be an ordinary match between Lee's opponents. As always, Neji would open with a few attacks, prompting Tenten to go on the defensive. Then it would be her turn to return the favor. Quite mundane as it was.

It was too ordinary; at least, that's what Tenten thought. She decided by herself that she would go all-out this time. Just to make things interesting. She paused, and took out two scrolls.

Neji blinked, and recognized her technique. He was prompted to match her skills with his own. "Byakugan!" He shouted, and the veins around his ghostly grey eyes swelled up, anticipating her attack.

Boar, Ram, Wolf, Tiger, Boar, Monkey. Tenten did her seals, and tossed the scrolls up into the air, spiraling around her as she jumped upwards through them. A Kunai poofed into existence from the scroll, and was thus hurled at the Hyuuga prodigy.

Neji spun. Then he spun some more. He became a whirlwind of chakra. 'The absolute defense,' as others had called it. A rotating shield of chakra formed suddenly, instantly deflecting the wayward projectile.

Soon another kunai flew. Then a spear. Then two shuriken. Then two swords. Then forty needles. All of them soared downwards at the chakra tornado, but not penetrating any deeper than the first one thrown. It was a stalemate.

Neji had the advantage. He had an ample supply of chakra, and knew the limits of his teammate's attack. It would only take a matter of time before the weapons freak would run out of ammunition to hurl at him. Or so he thought.

Something flew at him that was nothing like a weapon. Neji felt it as it hit the shield, and immediately he was distraught. "Hold it!" He said, still surrounded by his impenetrable shield.

Tenten hesitated, and held back her technique, Neji following suit immediately. The bushy-browed spectator watched in awe as they concluded their jutsus, but was distracted by the sudden interruption. He shifted his focus to the projectile that caused it.

"What...is that?" Lee asked quizzically.

The two boys waded through a sea of thrown weapons to the spot where the mysterious projectile had landed. It was something they did not recognize at first, nor realized that Tenten owned at all.

It was vibrating. Then they knew.

All three began to blush. Tenten especially.

"Uh-Uh-Uh...T-hat's j-just, um..." She began to stutter like the prodigy's cousin.

Immediately, Tenten ran off.

Now alone in the training grounds, Neji and Lee continued to inspect the device, the former now holding it in his hands. He felt dirty as he felt the rumbling in his grip. He found the switch that turned it off. He pressed. It stopped.

"Now," Neji said, "we never mention this to anyone ever again."

"Yosh!" Lee exclaimed, still blushing, but with a spirited expression on his face. "We must ignore the springtime of our comrade's youth!"

They nodded at each other, and went their separate ways.

Team Gai's training sessions would never be ordinary again.
