That was the day we met. She was 17 and I was a bit older. I was at a carnival with Liam, my best friend. He was waiting for his girlfriend.

"She's gorgeous, isn't she?" he breathed out dreamily

"Yeah, she's pretty. But who is that babe with Karma?"

"Oh her. That's Karma's best friend. Amy Roudenfeld. She's on a vacation with her parents. Her dad uses his money for napkins."

"She looks nice."

"She is. Come on let's go see them."

"Let's get something to eat." I heard Liam whisper to Karma

This Amy girl was what I wanted. There was just something in her. She seemed so confident. I thought she was faking it.

"Dance with me." I stood in front of her and asked ...well more like demanded but that wasn't the point.

"No."

"Why?"

"Because I don't want to."

"Hey back off she's with me." some nasty looking guy said. "Amy let's go to the ferris wheel."

"Yeah, sure. I'd love to." she has manners after all. That's nice.

Karma pushed the guy away and locked her arm with Amy. They started talking. I still don't realize why they thought that I couldn't hear them.

"Her name is Reagan. She is Liam's best friend." Karma said

"She seems cocky."

"She is. That's her charm. And I think she likes you." Damn right

Amy got on the ferris wheel with that creep after all. Of course I was being me and sat between them just as it was leaving the ground.

"What the hell are you doing?" the guy screamed

"Oh come on mate. It's polite to make some room for a girl."I said then focused my attention on Amy "Reagan Monreal. Very nice to meet you."

"Hey who's that?" the guy yelled

"I don't know... Apparently Reagan Monreal." I noted that my name sounded nice coming out of her lips.

"Let's go out."

"Excuse me?"

"Go out with me, won't regret it I promise. My dating game is strong."

"You're unbelievable."

"Is that a yes?"

"No I won't go out with you."

"No?"

"No!"

"No? You sure?"

"Yes!"

"So it's a no huh? Fine. Then I'll jump."

"What? You wouldn't-" I stood up. I have to admit it was really scary. This thing was shaking and it was pretty high. "Hey are you crazy? Sit down."

"Go out with me and I will. It's easy."

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah. Say it."

"No!"

"No. Is that your answer cause my legs are starting to give up." It was terrifying but I somehow found the courage and stood only on my right leg.

"Oh my God you're gonna kill yourself."

"Mhm maybe."

"Fine I'll do it now sit down."

"You'll do what?"

"I'll go out with you."

"Oh babe you have to mean it. Don't just say it to make me sit down."

"I mean it I swear. I wanna go out with you!"

"Okay, okay chill we'll go out." she gave me the most annoyed look I had ever seen but I couldn't help but smirk.

The next day I was going home from work. Nursing people who work at the mines sucks. As I was walking with Liam I saw her.

"Isn't that your girl?" he playfully bumped my shoulder

"She's not my girl. At least not yet."

I walked to Amy who chose to ignore me.

"Hey Amy."

"Oh hey."

"Yeah I kinda wanted to say sorry for last night. I mean getting on that ferris wheel...not my best move." she chuckled "Anyway what are you doing tonight or tomorrow or the day after tomorrow?"

"Why?"

"Well you made it pretty clear that you wanted to go out with me. I mean I haven't met myself but still..."

"Wow you are very confident aren't you?"

"Do you want me to be?"

"I don't know."

"I can be confident. I can be funny. I can be smart. I can be adventurous. Oh I can also dance. I'll do whatever you want."

"You're an idiot."

"I can be that." she laughed and started walking to a fancy car.

"Come one give me one day. I promise you'll like me." I shouted after her

"Not gonna happen."

"How can I convince you?"

"Well being the smart ass that you are I assume you'll think of something."

A few days later Liam told me that he is going to the cinema with Karma.

"Oh you're going on a date that's great."

"Mhm. What happened with your date though?"

"I don't know."

"I got it. It's not my business."

"No. I mean I don't know...can you do me a favour?"

"Sure. What do you need?"

"Can you ask Karma to invite Amy?"

"Oh a double date. Too fast don't you think?"

"Nah. It's perfect."

Amy agreed to join Karma and Liam. Well they didn't tell her that I was gonna be there but...

"Hello Roudenfeld."

"Hey...you"

"Oh this is for you." I handed her a red rose and she grinned.

"Thank you."

"You're very welcome plus you look amazing."

"Thanks"

"No seriously you look great."

The movie ended quickly. Not that I was paying much attention. I was focused on Amy. She was gorgeous. Her hair seemed soft and I kind of wished I could run my fingers through it.

"You want me to walk you home?"

"That'd be nice...it was fun right? The movie?"

"I've seen it before."

"Really? It's been ages since I've seen a movie."

"Yeah? Why is that?"

"I don't know. I'm usually busy. I have classes at home after that I play the piano or play tennis and I sometimes have dancing classes."

"Wow. When do you do normal stuff like having fun?"

"I don't."

"You don't?"

"No. I mean my days are planned I don't have time for things like that."

"Doesn't sound fun."

"Because it's not."

"So what do you enjoy doing?"

"I like painting."

"Painting? Are you good?"

"I think so. You should let me do a quick sketch of you sometime. You have a very interesting face."

"I do?"

"Yes." she came close to me and ran her hand trough my hair "You have a lot of baby hair on your forehead." she moved to my left cheek "You have chubby cheeks. Small and cute nose. Amazing eyes. Your jawline is perfect." she put a finger on my lips and traced them softly "Your lips are soft, bright pink, they look kissable." she looked me in the eyes

"They are kissable." she laughed at my statement

"You totally ruined the moment."

"We had a moment?" I smirked

"We did." we both laughed lightly and continued walking.

"Come here." I said as I laid on the street.

"Are you crazy? What are you doing?"

"You should do stuff for yourself you know? Like the painting. The way you talked... it seemed like it was about something you love. Now... dare to join me?" I put mu hands under my head. Amy laid next to me.

"I like you better now." she said quietly. It seemed like she wasn't sure if she wanted me to hear her or not.

"Hm? What?"

"I like you. When you're not being a smart ass."

"I do that when I'm nervous...or bored. Mostly nervous." she giggled "Get up. Let's dance."

"Here?"

"Yes right here."

She got up and slowly breathed out. She wrapped her arms around my neck. I was a bit taller but that was okay. I put my hands on her waist and swayed us lightly. She was humming a melody but I couldn't really recognize it. I wanted to kiss her and since she touched my lips it has become harder for me to contain myself but I didn't want to rush her. I pressed my lips to her forehead for a few seconds. After that she buried her face in my neck. I thought she was cute.

We fell in love. God she was the love of my life. We spent every second together. We were inseparable. She waited me to finish work outside the mines. As soon as she saw me she started screaming and smiling and running towards me, jumping in my arms and kissing me like crazy. Like we haven't seen each other for more than a couple of hours. We rode bikes in the woods. We had our little competitions. Amy always won. Actually I always let her win. She was just too happy when she did.

I bought her ice cream only to have her smash it all over my face. She laughed like crazy, constantly repeating that she was sorry. I didn't mind it. Especially when she licked it off my face aftherwards.

The first time Amy came to my house she found me reading poetry to my father on the porch. He invited her inside. We had a great time.

We went to the beach or to the river that was nearby. She liked the water. I was a bit scared of it but whatever she wants is whatever she gets.

I had an old pickup truck. I started teaching her how to drive. She wasn't a fast learner. It was a struggle.

We had our arguments. She would yell at me or even push me lightly but I would grab her face and kiss her anger away.

We were crazy about each other. We liked to make out in my truck. It wasn't the most comfortable place but it worked for us. She liked to sit on my lap. I liked how good of a kisser she was. Her lips worked just the right way against mine.

She told me that her parents wanted to meet me. I felt nervous again. That was big. I was a bit uncomfortable for me. They were rich and I was...me. It was a fancy lunch. Rich people joking about money, totally not my thing. They didn't miss the opportunity to make a joke about how much money I earned.

"Reagan did Amy tell you she's going to New York. Her acceptance letter came this morning." her mother said

"I'm sorry Rea. I wanted to be the one who told you."

"It's okay." I smiled

We couldn't keep our hands off each other. We hadn't had sex. I wanted to. She was too hot not to want her but I didn't want to rush her.

I had her pinned to my house's wall. I wanted to take it slow but I just couldn't stop my hands. I ran them all over her body, pushing slightly on her ass. My lips were kissing her jawline, moving behind her ear. That was her sweet spot.

"Let's go somewhere else." she whispered and I nodded

I took her to an abandoned house. It had lots of candles inside, they lighted up the entire house.

"I'm gonna buy this house one day." I walked behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist. I rested my chin on her left shoulder and kissed her neck softly every now and then.

"Are you gonna invite me here?"

"Nah. I think that you'll be living with me."

"In that case do I get to say how you paint the house or how you decorate it?"

"I'll do it the way you want."

"Really?"

"Yeah. Tell me... what would you want?"

"I want it to be a white house and a room with a view to the river so I could paint." I turned her around and kissed her.

"Done."

"Rea can I tell you something?"

"Anything."

"I love you."

"Y-you do?"

"I do."

"You love me?" I was smiling like crazy and she nodded "I love you too."

We kissed. Then we kissed some more. Then we laid on some blankets on the floor. Our clothes soon met the floor. We had a great long and exhausting night. A few hours later we were sleeping cuddled under a warm blanket when Liam entered the house and told us that Amy's parents were very worried about her. She was in good hands though.

I took her home. She invited me inside and I waited in the hall. They were in her father's office. I heard them screaming at each other.

"You have no future with her Amy! She is poor, she is a girl and she is definitely not for you!" her mother's words cut me like a knife. No future huh? Then how do you call all the sleepless nights I spent dreaming about a life with her. Oh right it was all a dream. And her mother's words? They were the reality.

"I love her mom." Amy cried

"Love? You're only 17. You know nothing about love."

"And what do you know? Do you even love dad? You don't act like two people in love. You don't look at him the way I look at Reagan. You don't laugh, you don't touch, you don't talk, you don't kiss, you don't play you do nothing together." her words were true but so were her mother's. I left. I didn't belong there.

"Reagan!"

"Hey."

"Where are you going?"

"Home."

"Are you mad? What's going on? Talk to me." my eyes were full of tears. I couldn't hold them anymore

"You're leaving Amy. You're going to college and I'm very happy for you but that's it. I'm staying here."

"Don't talk like that. We can fix it."

"No. Your mom was right. I'm not a part of your world. I can't give you the life you deserve. I don't have money or fancy things. I'm...me."

"You're all I need." I smiled and kissed her forehead, tears running down my cheeks.

"Good bye Amy."

She left three days later. I missed her. I cried every day. I couldn't let her go. Not her.

I wrote her a letter. Then another and another and another. I wrote her 365 letters. She didn't respond to any of them. I was slowly losing hope. But I still couldn't let her go. I never looked at another girl. I couldn't.

A few years passed. I hadn't heard anything about her. Part of me didn't want to and another part of me was curious.

I was sent to help the wounded soldiers during the war. I was away from home for awhile. When I returned dad told me that he sold our home in order to buy the abandoned house I had always wanted. He helped me fix it. We did it just the way Amy wanted. After some time he passed away. I continued working on the house myself. After a year it was done. Everyone was so impressed. Even the local newspaper wanted a photo of me in front of the house and an interview.

I was lost. I didn't know what to do with my life. This house was my goal, my aim and now it's finished but it didn't feel right living here on my own. I wondered how would it be if I was still with Amy.

A week later someone knocked on my door. Since I was selling the house I assumed it was another buyer. Amy was standing behind the door. Beautiful as ever. She was smiling.

"Hello Reagan."

"Amy, hi come in."

"I see you kept your promise."

"I always do." she smiled "Are you hungry?"

We had breakfast. Then we had dinner. We talked all day. It felt good. It felt right. I walked her to her car and she went to her hotel. While I laid in bed later I thought about the day we spent together. I thought about my feelings. My love for her is still here. It hadn't faded. But I didn't know about hers.

She visited me again the next morning. We went to the lake and got on a small boat. We didn't talk. There was only one thing that mattered- how did she feel about me.

Suddenly it started raining. We hurried to get home. When we finally reached the shore none of us moved. We stared into each other's eyes for a minute then Amy rushed out of the boat. She was walking fast and then she stopped and turned around to face me.

"Why didn't you write to me? It wasn't over for me!" she yelled, crying

"I wrote to you every day for an year. I wrote you 365 letters and you didn't respond to any of them." my voice was raising too. I was asking myself this question all this time "And it is still not over."

I pulled her to my body and kissed her with everything I had. She kissed me back moving her hands to my face, cupping my cheeks. We went inside the house, our lips connected. We laid on the bed and I spent the whole night showing her how much I missed her and how much I loved her.

I woke up alone. She wasn't next to me. I wondered around the house for a bit, looking for her. Then I remembered that there was only one place she could be. While I was repairing the house I made sure to make the room Amy wanted with a view to the lake. She was there, on the little balcony, wearing my shirt and nothing else. She was sitting on a chair and from where I was standing I couldn't see what she was drawing. I moved closer to her, wrapped my arms around her and kissed her cheek.

"Morning." I whispered

"What happens now Rea? Where do we go from here?"

"We can go to the moon if you want. I don't care. I just want you. I'm not gonna let you leave this time."

"I guess you're stuck with me then cause I'm staying right here." I grinned. I was waiting to hear these words all this time.

"I see you finally drew that sketch of me. My lips look nice."

"You were right about one thing though."

"Hmm and what would that be?"

"They are kissable."
