Angel held his daughter in his hands. He never expected Buffy to be gone like this. The high school was burnt, and she had been taken along with it. He remembered when he heard she was pregnant. A sword was stabbed through his stomach and the door to hell was open. One of the last things she had said to him was that she was pregnant. When he returned, it was maybe only a month later and she had their daughter. He couldn't stay in Sunnydale with his daughter. His was living in L.A. now, but he knew that he would probably move again. Especially since he thought that his daughter growing up in L.A. would be a bad idea. Angel carried his daughter over to the window. He could see no stars or moon. Just the city lights.

"You'll see the moon one day, but not as much as me. I don't want you to see it as much as me", Angel said to his sleeping baby girl.

He looked out his window and saw Doyle coming along. He didn't want to see him. He walked over to the crib by his bed and laid his daughter softly in it. He lightly touched her soft cheek and said, "I'll only be gone a minute. I promise".

Angel walked out of his bedroom and walked into his living room. He saw Doyle lying on the black leather couch reading a magazine.

"How's Jodie?" he asked.

"Asleep", Angel replied.

"Must be hard during the day though"

"Somewhat. Cordelia's around so that helps, but I'm up most of the time"

"We've gotta do some huntin' sometime"

"Some other time Doyle"

"Oh come on man! Call Cordelia and she'll watch Jodie. Heck I'll watch her. Free of charge"

"No Doyle"

"Why not man?"

"Because she's all I have left of her!"

Angel could hear his daughter in the next room stirring, but then she fell back asleep.

"Listen, Angel, I know that Jodie is the only thing you have left, but sometimes, you just have to let the past be the past and worry about the future"

"Not yet. I'm not ready yet"

"Alright fine. Call when you're ready", Doyle left.

Angel went back into his bedroom and looked at his daughter.

"Jodie. You'll grow up to be such a beautiful woman. Just like your mother".

Angel then went back into his living room. Keeping his mind off of the death of Buffy Summers.
