Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter and I got the idea for this story from a commercial, believe it or not.
Pansy was sitting at the little island in the middle of their small kitchen in their flat in magical London. As she scoped up the last of her cereal Harry made his way to the counter and began to boil himself a cup of coffee. Noticing the box of cereal lying forgotten on the counter beside him, he began to read it until something caught his eye.
"Are you trying to lose weight?" he asked without thinking.
"What?"
Had he been a bit more perceptive he might have noticed the threatening undertones to that simple question, but Harry was a sweet, naive boy and asked again. It wasn't until the words left his mouth that he realized his mistake. It was like he was digging his own grave. He cautiously turned to find her violet eyes glaring death at him.
"Why? Does it look like I need to lose weight? Are you trying to tell me something, Harry?" she asked a little too sweetly.
"No! It was the box." He said, pointing a finger accusingly at it.
"The box?" Dig, dig, dig...
"I mean, I was reading it and it said, Now with 50 percent less fat..." he picked the box up and pointed at the words that were encircled at the bottom, as if that would help. But she didn't even glance at the box, just glared fixedly at him. "I just assumed..." Dig, dig, dig...
"Oh you assumed, did you? Tell me Potter, what else does that box say?"
He looked down at the box as if to actually read it. "It says, 'Shut up, Harry.'"
When he dared to finally raise his eyes Pansy was pointing her wand at him. He was certain he was going to die, until he realized she was pointing it at her dishes, not him. They expertly flew through the air to clean and put themselves away while she walked towards him.
She grabbed the box from his hands and placed it back on the counter then wrapped her arms around his neck as she gave him an amused smirk. "You really are an idiot, Harry." She said as she leaned forward to brush her lips against his. Relief flooded his body at the feel of her against him, his shoulders relaxing about two inches. He hadn't realized he had been so tense.
She pulled away and he smiled down at her. "I love you too." He said sweetly and she rolled her eyes in response but couldn't stop the small smile that spread across her face as she left the room. Shaking his head thoughtfully, he turned to pour his cup of coffee. He was never reading a cereal box again.
