Chapter One:
It was dark when I woke.
My eyelids were uncooperative as they peeled back to their sockets. I couldn't see anything in front of me anyways. The pain from the dried out lens reminded me that I didn't imagine opening them. I was facing up, I know, and lying on a hard surface. The roughness reminded me of stone or concrete. I couldn't tell which.
I blinked.
The air— damp and uncomfortably hot— was causing rivets of sweat to trek down my temple into my scalp. I felt it pool around my naked sides.
I tried to pick up my arm. It got about two inches into the air before being forced to stop. There was a metallic jingle and I registered the coolness of metal around my wrists. The coolness was also around my ankles.
I was shackled.
How did I get here?
I heard the twist of a doorknob before light flooded the room. I squeezed my eyelids back shut and passed out again.
Some details:
Author and Reviews- This is my first fanfic. I'm proud because I've been reading them for around six years and I have finally found the courage to create one myself. It's empowering, I like it. I do hope you are gentle with your early feedback. I haven't written a narrative in quite a while. As the story progresses and the chapters compound, feel free to offer your opinion as brash as it appears in your mind. I'll be prepared then. I am not right now.
Chapter Length and Turnaround- The chapters will progressively get longer as I become more confident with writing. Eventually, they should take around 30 minutes per chapter for an avid reader. I'll be updating every first of the month for sure unless I get enough reviews that encourage me to submit sooner. I'm willing to speed up with general encouragement. (A review saying just "good fic!", is good enough for me).
Thanks and Blessings.
