"Jade, please, please, for me, your best friend in the world, please?" The thirteen year old boy asked his grouchy best friend.

"No, no, no, Beckley, why would you want me of all people to go to the mall with you after school on my 13th birthday?" said the darkly dressed chick right next to him.

"Do not call me my full name Jade please."

"FINE I'll go with you okay!"

"Good."

Then after that conversation in lunch, they spent the whole rest of school talk-free.

"Ok let's go, Jade, we will be late!" He said grabbing her hand and calling the cab.

"Beck can you please tell me what we're doing there! It's MY birthday and I have no clue what's the mall going to do to make me happy today!"

"Jade, Jade calm down, okay. I'll be worth it. I promise you." He tells her sweetly holding her pale hand.

"Thanks." Beck said to the cab guy when they got to the Rodeo Drive mall by Beck's house.

"Now, please?" Jade said in her grumpier than EVER tone as she stomped right pass him.

"Jade please answer this. Do you have permanent PMSing in you?"

"NOOOOOO I DO NOT BECKLEYLUKEOLIVEREVANS !"

"Ok fine, I "believe" you!"

"I really don't!"

"Ok, end of discussion, let's go inside to the stage!" He grabs Jade's hand and runs with her through the many people in what seemed like hours to get to the stage.

Beck's phone rings.

"What!"

"What the hell!"

"Ok."

"Fine, I hate you… it's my best friend!"

"GOODBYE BASTARD!"

"Beck what happened?" Jade asked really worried.

"Jade I…I…I had gotten my cousin to reunite the band evanescence to come play for you here today but now those idiots said they wouldn't do it! I paid $500 bucks to get the stage for them today. I am so sorry, Jade. That was my present for you."

"Beck…um…I love you, you know that right?"

"Yeah…so you are not mad? You are my best friend since 5th grade and look, I got you nothing for your birthday! I feel so bad."

"Well, don't."

"Why shouldn't I?"

"I already have my birthday present. I got It two years ago when you came here and became my best friend. I love you and you accept me for me. Not for a fake me."

Beck couldn't help it. He loved Jade. So very much. She's been through a coma, 28+ surgeries, a hydrocephalus attack and many more hard things. And she wanted just him as her present?

"I love you more than I have ever loved anyone. You know all about my life and understand like nobody else does. And you have been through life-death situations and you just want me?"

Jade just nodded and said to him "I am scared to loose you. So that's all I want scratch that NEED with me. You, Beck you have slowly become my whole life. How can I want anything else?"

Beck swept her into his arms and carried her in a piggy back ride all the way to the photo booth in the mall. They took some funny pictures and got a copy for each of them.

"Beck."

"Jade?"

"You are my bestest best friend ever and you will be forever."

"Well, Jade, it wasn't my Idea of this afternoon, but I am glad we spent it like this."

"Well you know, there is no way I could have spent my 13th birthday a better way without you."

Tears went up into Beck's eyes and he and Jade walked home.

His parents made them dinner and they gave Jade this beautiful black laced necklace.

"So what did Beck get you." Mr. Oliver asked.

"He got me himself. He promised he would never leave me. And I am more than happy with that. Mine forever. In the photobooth.
