When all our tears have reached the seaPart of you will live in meWay down deep inside my heartThe days keep coming without failA new wind is gonna find your sailThat's where your journey starts

I sat on the edge of my bed, holding my head in my hands. I had just gotten home from the hospital. My doctor had told me something I thought I would never hear. I, Cody Rhodes, had cancer. And it was to late to help it. I only had a little while left to live. A knock on the door interrupted my thoughts. I knew who it was. My girlfriend, Mickie. I had invited her over to talk to her. As much as I thought I should, I wasn't going to tell her. I'd much rather have her be mad at me when I die, which is why I'm breaking up with her.

"Baby!" Mickie said, jumping up, trying to give me a kiss. But, I turned my head. I grabbed her hands and pulled her over to the bed. I sat her down next to me.

"Mickie, I have to talk to you."

"What's wrong, Cody?" Her eyes were already filling with tears. I had to look down, I couldn't bare to look at her crying.

"Things just….aren't working with us."

"What do you mean?" She was crying. Shit, I didn't want her to cry.

"I think we just break-up.""But, things are great between us!" She stood up.

I stood up to. I couldn't say anymore. I just broke down and started crying, too. I wrapped my arms around her and just held her. She sensed something was wrong, I could tell, because she hugged me back.

Just like the waves down by the shoreWe're gonna keep on coming back for more'Cause we don't ever wanna stopOut in this brave new world you seekOh the valleys and the peaksAnd I can see you on the top

"I love you, Mickie."

"Then why are you ending things?""Because…"

"Whatever, Cody.""Don't hate me.""Never."I sighed, trying not to cry anymore. "I love you.""I love you, too."

I pulled her over and hugged her again. I grabbed her face and pulled her close. I kissed her deeply and passionately, knowing it was probably the last time I'd ever kiss her.

A few weeks later….

Mickie hadn't seen Cody ever since the break-up. She'd missed him a lot. So, she decided she had to see him. As she found his hotel room, she knocked on the door. No one answered. So she knocked again. Still, no answer. She then noticed that the door was slightly open, so she pushed it open.

Remember me when you're out walkin'When the snow falls high outside your doorLate at night when you're not sleepin'And moonlight falls across your floorWhen I can't hurt you anymore

"Cody?" Mickie walked into the hotel room and looked around. No answer. Finally, she walked into the bath room. She screamed at the top of her lungs and started sobbing. Laying on the bathroom floor, not breathing, not moving, was Cody.

Mickie fell to her knees beside him. She leaned down and layed his head down on his chest. Still sobbing, she said, "I love you. I'll always remember you, Cody."
