My Life As A Sidekick To A Teenage Robot

Written by Patrick Moore

The SUV that drove the Morgendorffer family to their new home from Highland, TX to Trembleton stopped at a familiar sort of a house that was red. For the last few weeks, Daria Morgendorffer didn't mind moving to a new town, but Trembleton was different. It had more damage to it's town, than Townsville and Miracle City combined.

"Well, what do you girls think about our new home?" asked Daria's father, Jake, as they all got out of the SUV.

"Jake, I don't like this town," said Helen Morgendorffer. "I heard about the so called teenage robot that lives here."

"Helen, there's no such thing as a teenage robot," replied Jake.

"This from the guy who said Smurfs tasted like chicken," said Daria.

"Forget that, Daria," said Jake. "Time to meet the neighbors."

"Jake, we haven't even unpacked our things yet," said Helen.

"Fine, Miss Attorney At Law," frowned Jake, as he and Helen went inside their new house.

Daria and Quinn walked towards next door, as the looked at the mailbox with the word "Wakeman" on the side. The two girls walked to the front door and knocked.

"I told you, I don't want any Waif magazines," said a short, white haired woman in a yellow lab coat who opened the door.

"We're not Jehovah Witnesses," replied Daria. "My name is Daria Morgendorffer, and this is my brainless sister, Quinn."

"Hey!" spoke Quinn in a frown.

"I don't have any sugar," said the woman. "You're worse as Brad and Tuck."

"Lady, we just moved here," explained Daria. "We're your new neighbors from next door."

"I just wished you moved to either Dimsdale or Retroville, instead of Trembleton," said the lady. "My daughter causes lots of damage with all the monsters and aliens coming out of the woodwork. By the way, my name is Dr. Nora Wakeman."

"You're the inventor of the X-J units," said Daria. "I've been wanting to meet you for so long."

Nora just blushed. "I've invented other things too."

Daria just shook Dr. Wakeman's hand. "I want you to know that not all females are idiot cheerleaders."

"I want you two to meet my daughter," said Dr. Wakeman. "X-J9, we have guest!"

Just then , a female robot girl in blue and white entered to the door. "Mom, I told you my name is Jenny, not X-J9."

"Oh my god! It's her!" Quinn was all a flutter, after seeing Jenny/ X-J9 for the first time. "It's the robot super girl from Sick, Sad, World."

"Thank you, Ms. Obvious, I never made the connection," Daria said to Quinn. "If you don't mind, I would like to talk to Dr. Wakeman and Jenny alone."

"Can't I get the robot's autograph first?" asked Quinn, as Daria gave her a deadpan look of anger, as Quinn walked off.

"Please ignore my sister, she's just a huge fan for your so called daughter," said Daria.

Dr. Wakeman just smirked. "Jenny's is popular in Japan. Let's come inside to talk about you, Miss Morgendorffer."

As the three of them went inside, a strange figure looks on in the trees, with it's yellow snake like eyes. "Soon, X-J9, you will be mine."
