Every Friday he visits her grave with a bunch of flowers. Red roses from the very best florist in town, of course. She wouldn't settle for anything less. He drives to the Cemetery which is a very long distance from his own Mansion. He doesn't mind...he listens to her favorite songs on the way. Smooth jazz is not really his type of music, but he still likes it. The music...it reminds him of her. He remembers her silky brown locks, and her mesmerizing honey colored orbs. When he reaches his destination, an abandoned green field on the outskirts of town, he gets out and walks in through the large brass gate. His eyes don't even need to scan the premises, he already knows the location of her resting place like the back of his hand. He walks to it and sits down. The young man then reaches for the picnic basket he has brought with him. After laying down the flowers on the mud ground he reaches for the other contents of the basket. After pulling out the bottle of Red Wine and the two glass goblets, he sets them down near her tombstone.

"Good morning. How have you been?" She doesn't reply.

"I've been fine too. Thanks for asking. Amy's good too. Although, she has been having these mood swings lately. I think it has something to do with her pregnancy..."

He talks on and on, about all that has been going on in his life. She listens quietly, and this goes on till late evening. He then notices the sun setting in the west, and realizes that he has been sitting there for a long time. He drains his entire glass of wine, and then empties hers on the grass. After collecting all his belongings and carefully placing them in the basket, he gets up with a heave. But before he leaves, he has to do one more thing. The twenty year old carries out this ritual after every visit. He bends down and lightly kisses the top of her tombstone. The groundskeeper looks at him as if he were mad, but the man has hardly even acknowledged his presence. With a last satisfying glance at her shrine, he runs to his Beetle and jumps in. The black car drives away into the night leaving behind the barren grounds of the Attleboro Cemetery. Only to return next Friday.

To him she is still alive. After all that is the power of the Mind's Eye.

Plus the fact that he has a photographic memory.
