Hey, Jhawkeye9000 here with my first fanfic so it probably won't be great. Please give feedback whether good or bad. This is based on my first attempt at a Nuzlocke in Pokemon Emerald. In this Norman isn't the trainers dad. Let's get started.

Chapter 1

My name is Jared, Jared Hawkeye age 15. I was originally from Johto but my dad was offered a job as Prof. Birch to study underneath him as an assistant. I'm excited for him don't get me wrong, but it sucks to have to move. I was planning on starting my pokemon journey with a Cyndaquill, but oh well. We were driving to Hoenn to Littleroot due to that being where Birch's lab is. The next day after helping unpack my room I decided to do some exploring. I was wearing my usual black sneakers, blue jeans, and red shirt. I also wear a hat that makes my hair look like it's white because it's fun to mess with people, but it's actually dark brown hidden beneath the hat.

After exploring the nearby forest for a little while I noticed a nice looking hill to rest. Once at the top I noticed that there was someone there. It was a girl who looked roughly the same age as me and wore a red shirt (copycat) black shorts, red sneakers, white gloves, and a red bandanna with a poke ball on it.

"Oh hey didn't realize anyone was here, sorry if I'm interrupting something." I said

"There's nobody but us two here how could you interrupt something?" she asked

"Never know."

We talked for a while after that(sorry I suck with dialogue) and I found out her name was May the daughter of Prof. Birch, she lived next door, and that she was about to start her adventure soon, like me.

I decided to head home after that and after dinner walked around town for a while. At the Northernmost edge I was about to leave when I got stopped by a 6 year old girl in a dress.

"Don't you dare go out there!" She yelled

"Why wouldn't I be able to go out there?" I asked with a sigh.

"Because…

"H-H-H-HELP!"

Once I heard that scream I rushed pass the little girl to the north because I knew I had to help.
