I thought I'd write this both in honor of Father's Day and the Lion King's 20th anniversary, and the announcement of the new Lion King TV Series "The Lion Guard". I don't own the Lion King, the Lion Guard or the Lion King Six New Adventure book series. This was originally going to be Kopa's story, but I didn't know how to put Simba and Nala in a position to tell Kiara and Kovu about him. But, now I do, thanks to The Lion Guard! So, here it is.
After all the trauma and drama with the near-war with the Outlanders, Zira's death, the prides merging, and Kovu and Kiara marrying; Nala felt relieved that peace was finally restored. Things turned back to normal, the lionesses were all getting along, and Kiara was being groomed for taking over for Simba when he dies.
A few weeks came to pass, and Nala began feeling nauseas each morning. Her appetite went up and down, and she felt tired all the time.
"Nala, I think you should see Rafiki." Simba suggested, slightly worried.
Nala nodded in agreement. "I don't think it's bad, though. Last time I felt like this, I was pregnant."
Simba smiled and rubbed her head. "That would be amazing."

The king and queen set off to Rafiki's tree where the Shaman was already waiting for them. "Something is ailing you, Your Majesty. But I assure you there's nothing to worry about."
"I think I may be pregnant." Nala admitted.
Rafiki smiled and nodded. He stood, raised his arms, and closed his eyes. A gentle gust of wind and leaves blew past the trio. "The great kings of the past tell me your assumptions are correct. You are, indeed, with child."
Nala gasped happily Simba laughed joyfully. "We're having another baby!" Simba and Nala cheered and hugged each other. They turned to Rafiki, who started drawing a little cub. They walked up to him.
"I forsee a great future with your new cub." Rafiki mused. "There will be a few changes, of course."
"Like what?" Simba asked.
"Oh, you'll figure it out." Rafiki replied.
'Of course…' Simba rolled his eyes. "Thank you." He turned to Nala. "Come on, you two."
Nala chuckled. They headed back home.

Once home, Simba called for his daughter. Kiara was curious about her parent's announcement. They beamed brightly as she and Kovu padded towards them.
"Is this one of those intervention things?" Kovu whispered.
Kiara chuckled lightly. "I doubt it."
"Good, you two are here." Simba said.
"What's going on, Daddy?" Kiara asked.
"Well…your mother hasn't been feeling well these past few days, so we went to see Rafiki." Simba explained. "And he told us-"
"I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant!" Nala exclaimed.
"Oh! You ruined the punchline!" Simba half-complained. Nala just laughed.
Kiara gasped happily. "Oh my God! I'm going to be a sister!" She hugged her mom. "Oh my God, I'm so happy."
"Congratulations, Simba, Nala." Kovu said, smiling.
"Thank you, Kovu."
"Congratulations for what?" Everyone turned to see Timon and Pumbaa walking towards them.
Zazu flew into the den onto a perch near Simba. "Hey, Zazu! You're just in time."
"In time for what?" Zazu asked.
"We're having another baby!" Simba announced.
"Great. Now we're gonna have to babysit again." Timon half-complained. They chuckled.
"Oh, how lovely. Kiara is a sister again." Zazu said.
Kiara raised her brow in confusion. "Again? I mean, I have a sister-in-law, but…"
Simba and Nala shared sad looks. "I think we should tell her."
"Yeah." Simba nodded and turned to Kiara.
"Tell me what?"
"You have an older brother. He passed away just after you were born." Simba said sadly.
Kiara was surprised at the news. "Oh. I…I'm so sorry he died. What happened?"
"His name was Kopa." Simba replied. "This story may take a while."
Kiara and Kovu got comfortable.
Well, what do you think? The chapters will be longer, I promise!
