My Hero
(A story in the Father's Day Trio)
By The Meepy Freak
His childhood haunts me as I think of him
His black hair and brown eyes: the light in dark
He would persevere, no matter how grim
He is my hero and at night, my spark
...
His courage leads me to his lonely grave
Where the stone mocks my sadness with nullity
As I slowly think of the joy he gave
And appreciate his fidelity
...
I carry a rose as guilt consumes me
My happiness was all he desired
Yet, I did not commend his bravery
Still, he was the person I admired
...
He was a great hero, fighting the bad,
Never again will I forget my dad.
