#23 Cat
Ino jumped up and down on Shikamaru's bed, waking him up completely. "What did you get Temari?" she asked as she bounced to a sitting position on his bed.
"What are you talking about Ino?" Shikamaru questioned groggily.
"You guys are going out," Ino stated. "Didn't you get her anything?"
"No," Shikamaru replied. "Why, should I have?"
"Shika, it's her birthday today. Plus she is coming here to be with you this week."
Shikamaru jumped off his bed and threw on a shirt. "Why didn't you tell me it was going to be her birthday? This is going to be so troublesome."
Ino shook her head and followed him out of his bedroom. "What are you going to get her?"
"I don't know. When does she arrive?"
"Three o'clock."
"I only have three hours. I will be by your family's flower shop at about two forty-five."
"Okay Shika."
It was two forty-five and Shikamaru was at the Yamanaka family's flower shop. "Hello Shikamaru, what can I get you?" Ino's father Inochi asked.
"Can I get a dozen roses?" Shikamaru inquired.
"For your girlfriend?"
"Yes."
"Okay, pink or Red?"
"Red."
Shikamaru walked up behind Temari. "Happy Birthday," he said.
Temari turned around and saw the beautiful flowers in his hand. "Oh, Shikamaru, they're beautiful!" Temari exclaimed happily.
Shikamaru handed Temari the flowers and then withdrew a basket from behind his back. He also handed that to Temari.
She sat down and pulled back the cloth in the basket. A little black kitten poked its head out of the basket. Temari pulled the kitten out of the basket. "Thank you so much Shika."
He sat down next to her, put his arm around her, and gave her a kiss on the cheek. "You're welcome."
