You Don't Know Him
I'm really ticked off right now. Haha I mean, REALLY ticked off. This stupid girl in my math class keeps saying mean things about me to this guy. And the guy talks about me and he DOESN'T. KNOW. ME. So thus, this story is born. Main character is Prof. Membrane because he is a character that I'm passionate about. Plus, he always makes me feel better.
I didn't know him. Not until he came out to me one day. He unraveled his life story to me one cold December afternoon.
"Dad," he said, walking up to me. He had dark circles under his eyes.
"Son, you must get more sleep." He laughed.
"That'll ever happen." It wasn't a light laugh, either. It was a bitter, sarcastic laugh.
I looked closely. Were those tear stains on his cheeks?
"Were you crying, Dib?" I asked.
He looked up at me. He shook his head.
"Naw; allergies."
"No sleep. The tears. What's wrong?" He looked down.
"I'm fine." I've heard that too many times before.
"No, you aren't. There's something wrong." He began to cry. Something was hurting him. I needed to know what.
Slowly, he pulled up his sleeve.
Hey, never said this was gonna be a one-shot. -v-
