A/N: This will be 8 chapters total, one for each of the main characters. Some will be very short, others medium-short. It's a work in progress, and heaven knows when I'll get each chapter written/posted, as I'm incredibly busy, but I will do my best not let it go too long between updates. ~ChrissyJoy

Ziva David vs. mouse

Skitter…. scratch….scurry… A dark shadow darts across the floor…

She unlocks the last lock on the door, and enters the dark apartment. Out of the corner of her eye she sees the shadow zoom across the floor along the length of the wall opposite her. In the space of only two seconds she draws her gun, takes aim, and fires at the shadow.

She pauses several moments, gun still at the ready, until she is convinced there is no more movement coming from the other side of the room. Once she has reassured herself, she travels the short distance across her living room to see what exactly it is that she has shot. She bends over and sees it is a small, grey mouse, lying dead on the carpet with a bullet in its body. She goes to the kitchen and grabs the trash can to dispose of the dead rodent.

After bagging up the trash, she returns to the spot where she shot the mouse. Examining the carpet, she mutters to herself…"Now how am I going to explain this bullet hole in the floor to the apartment manager?"

A/N2: Reviews are definitely appreciated. It's been a while since I've written, so I welcome any feedback.

BTW: I still intend to finish my other story, "Finding Ziva," sometime. I plan to tackle it this summer when I have a long break from my grad classes. :) ~ChrissyJoy
