Title: Gasoline
Summary: She wanted nothing more than to be beautiful, perfect, and flawless. He knew she wasn't all these things, but that didn't matter.
Paring: Renkotsu/Tsubaki

She wanted nothing more than to be beautiful, perfect, and flawless. Magazines and books promising ways to magnify her beauty filled her shelves, covered the floors of her room. Everyday she spent hours getting her make up just right, and everyday she spent hours covering up the horrendous scar on her face.

He sat there, watching her cover up her insecurities. He wondered sometimes why he bothers with her. Insecurities were weaknesses. Weaknesses could not be tolerated. Yet everyday he stuck around, just watching her go about her daily routine.

Tsubaki was good at covering up her physical imperfections. Tons of make up and correctly placed bangs covered up the scar over her right eye, making it so hardly anyone knew it was there. She was also quite good at hiding her other imperfections.

Not good enough though. One man saw every little thing that was wrong with her, and he made sure she knew this.

She was never beautiful enough for him.

Always too demanding.

Far too self-absorbed for him to truly want to care about her.

Everyday he pointed these, and others, out to her. Everyday they argued, their confrontations going on long into the night. Yet everyday he stayed, and every night they made up.

Tsubaki wasn't perfect, but she tried to be.

Renkotsu wasn't perfect, but he accepted Tsubaki as she was, so to her he was.
