Have some nice Equius/Nepeta pale fluff to get me out of my Writers block!
Based on this Prompt: Nepeta Leijon / Equius Zahhak Night Job
Nepeta sighed as she waited outside. It was cold and even her thick coat and hat couldn't ward off the winter chills. After a quick look around for Equius' car she leaned against the wall. Maybe he had gotten lost? Or maybe... Maybe he had forgotten about her. But, that was crazy, right? Equius was her best friend! He would never forget about her. Right?
No, she was being crazy. Equius' car would pull up any moment now and he would take her home. And then she would convince him to come in for some hot chocolate and cookies and maybe a movie and at first he would insist he had to get home but then he would come in and have the cookies and hot chocolate and they would watch a really bad movie. And Equius would fall asleep and he would end up sleeping over.
Every minute that passed Nepeta found her doubts getting more and more prominent. She clicked on her phone and found it to be almost ten minutes after he told her he would come. Where was he? Had he forgotten? She found tears springing to her eyes. She wiped them away but they just kept coming. Soon enough she was sobbing on the floor. She was being stupid, she knew that. She just didn't want to be left alone.
Suddenly, a heavy hand was on her shoulder and she looked up to see the concerned face of Equius looking up at her. "Nepeta, are you o-"Before he could finish his sentence Nepeta had tackled him in a tight hug. "I thought you'd left me" She mumbled into his shoulder. He hugged her back just as tightly. "Never."
After that they both climbed into his car and Nepeta turned on the radio even after Equius told her not to. She always did.
Finally they reached Nepeta's house. "C'mon, Equius! Please?" She begged. "Please please please?" Equius sighed. "Nepeta, I really must be getting back..." But he knew a lost battle and got out of the car anyway.
Popcorn, cookies and hot chocolate along with a really bad romantic comedy followed. Equius fell asleep on her shoulder half way through. She smiled and carefully took his shades off. After putting them onto the side table, she too fell asleep.
When Nepeta awoke, Equius was nowhere to be found. She checked outside. His car wasn't there. Her shoulders slumped, but she knew he'd be back. He always came back.
He'd never leave her.
Never.
