"Sleep tight, bud." Will placed a kiss on Henry's head before reaching to shut his nightlight off.
"No daddy. Can it stay on tonight?" his voice was so vulnerable.
Ever since the incident with Izzy Rogers and whatever deathly story she filled his mind with, Henry hasn't been able to fall asleep in the dark again. And it had now been almost two years.
Will sighed, "Sure. Goodnight, little man."
When Will emerged from Henry's room he could hear JJ's voice projecting from downstairs. Stopping at the bottom step he saw his wife sat on the sofa, her back to him and holding her phone to her right ear.
"You're sure?" he heard her ask into the phone.
Will quietly approached the back of the couch and gently placed his hand on JJ's shoulder. She jumped, and stood on her feet with panic written all over her face at Will being there.
"Okay. Well just let me know. Goodnight, sir."
"Who was that darlin'?"
"Oh just Hotch." She was a terrible liar.
"Uh-huh? What he want at this hour?"
"Nothing important. Just case information." JJ said as she left the living area and walked into the kitchen.
Will followed her direction. "JJ if something was wrong you'd tell me, right?"
"Nothing's wrong, Will." She giggled nervously.
"And so you keep telling me Jayje but I'm sorry, I don't believe you." He said softly.
"Why don't you believe me? There is nothing wrong. I promise."
"Because whatever secret or secrets you've been keeping from me lately are eating you up."
Trying to save herself from this hole Will was digging she asked him, "Wine?"
"No JJ. Answer this one question. Can you swear on Henry's life that you're not hiding something from me?"
Her eyes darted up looking straight into Will's. He swore he could see tears beginning to form.
"Oh, darlin'." Will wrapped his arms around her petite body and she cried into his chest.
"I can't tell you, Will. Please understand. It's not you or anything to do with us, but I just can't." she sobbed.
"Okay. Okay, I understand Jayje." JJ saying this made him ever more worried than before but he had to respect her privacy.
"I can't tell you. Not right now But… if something ever happens to me, ask Cruz. He'll know."
"Matt? What's he got to do with it?" Will pulled her from him looking fearfully into her eyes.
"Just take my word for it, Will. All you need to know is that I am fine."
"I understand. However, you're not fine, Jennifer Jareau."
"Then let me prove it to you." She softly wiped her tear stained cheeks, grabbed him and kissed him hungrily.
Will sighed his annoyance into the kiss at her total ignorance to her problems. But he would never reject his wife. He knew she loved him. And he loved her.
"Come on upstairs." She whispered against his now moist lips. "I'll show you."
"But JJ…"
"Shhh." She hushed him and took his hand all the way up to their bedroom. "I'm fine, Will. See." She said once they were in their room, now removing her clothes.
"Uh-huh." Will stared at her body.
"I love you." JJ told him as she fell onto the bed pulling Will on top of her.
"I love you too."
No matter what JJ said, no matter how hard she tried to convince him that she was fine, nothing would clear his mind until he was entirely sure, and if that meant something had to happen to her for him to find out then he could only take her word for it now. And pray she would be okay. But little did he know not only days from now would he be reporting her missing to her family of team mates.
I had to write this I'm sorry. If you are still currently an emotional wreck from 199's ending then you are not alone. Just remember guys, they will find her and Willifer will be stronger than ever. Will will help her to recovery. We just have to wait two short(long) weeks. WE CAN DO IT.
Please let me know what you think.
