" Onyx and Pearl"
Onyx, that is my name. The name I found and gave myself. I am lost, and have know one to turn to. Unlike Pearl I am not seeking a single order. All I want is to let the gems know I exist, and to let them know that they are not alone. You can learn a lot in a few years. Even though to me it feels like months. Time flows so fast for me. But, still I wonder. Will they hate me? Will I be a disgrace to the gems? Am I a disgrace to not only them, but my species? I don't know what I am. I know I am a gem, but the Crystal Gems seem human in their own way. I want that,so much. To be human.
Onyx stops thinking so depressingly and starts to watch the gems from a distance. Amethyst had pulled some insult that made Pearl have an emotional break down about Rose. Again. Garnet of course was no where to be seen, and Peridot who knows what she's doing. As Pearl ran Onyx felt a plum it in his heart. He had only existed for three years but chose the appearance of a sixteen year old human male. He didn't understand many emotions but he knew he felt pain when he saw Pearl with that face of pain. Although he could never understand the amount of loss she felt. She obviously had feelings for Rose Quartz before. But, Onyx only understood she was hurting. He watched knowing Pearl would be off guard if she was in this state. So, Onyx watched feeling the need to protect Pearl. She wasn't the most human out of them all but that was okay. He wasn't exactly either. As she cried even more he felt more than the need to protect her. He slowly approached her. As, he sneaks towards her he contemplated in his head that this was a bad idea. What if she was so frightened that she killed him in fear of an attack.
Onyx quickly turned not realizing he had made a big mistake. The quick movement had alerted Pearl. At that moment Onyx thought it was all over. He heard Pearl lunge over with a spear pointed towards him. Pearl then spoke with a broken voice." Wh-wh-who are you?" Onyx was to nervous for words. "..." Pearl repeated her self more firmly this time. " Who are you?" Onyx hesitated then replied. " …...Onyx" Pearl had never seen a gem like Onyx even though she'd been around longer than most. Pearl looked at him with a bit of a confused look. " Onyx?" Pearl said. "Yes that's my name." Onyx replied. Pearl was still confused at what he was, but moved on to the first thing on her mind. " Why were you following me?" Pearl asked in a slightly less firm tone of voice.
Onyx's heart raced, or whatever was controlling his emotions he didn't care. After, the near death experience and immediate questioning he couldn't think straight. " Well?" Pearl asked once more. Onyx shook his head and came back to earth. " I-I..." He hesitated. " I saw you cry." He said quickly and then closed his eyes waiting for his demise. He slowly opened his eyes and had realized that Pearls beautiful pale skin had turned a shade of red or orange. She was blushing and had a strange look of embarrassment on her face.
At that point Onyx was really worried. Had he done something wrong? Had he made her feel worse? All these questions and more quickly ran through his head all at once. " I'm sorry?!" he said in a complete nervous wreck. " W-what for?" Pearl replied her voice high pitched and nervous. Now, Onyx was confused. " Your red aren't you mad?" Onyx said. " Red?" Pearl said feeling her face as she was burning. She had only gotten more embarrassed after that, but after awhile she pulled it together.
"So Onyx?" Pearl said."I still haven't given you my name." Hello Onyx my name is Pearl."
Pearl took out a hand to help him up.
