Guardian

We always work together,

Out here on the western coast.

Scanning and detection,

It's what I do the most.

Finding treasures of the past,

Fighting off the volge.

Hellbugs, mutants, fellow hunters,

Many tales are told.

And yet I begin to wonder,

As I surf through the Ark-net.

Why I feel hollow,

And what feelings that begets.

I'm part of you, deep within,

But could I be more?

Or am I but a simple tool,

Nothing less and nothing more?

An EGO, that is what I am,

But is ego gripping me?

Thinking I'm more than a servant,

Yearning to be free?

Or should I make myself confined,

To just obey your will?

Both when out in the field,

And when standing still?

The questions lie within me,

But still, your guardian I'll be.

Because at the least, you are my friend,

And from you I'll never flee.
