Challenge or Quest? Please advice, If this fic does not exist I wish it would
When I first learned of fanfiction after reading Deathly Hallows, I (at first) thought canon was the way to go. Until I discovered this the Harry/Hermione ship and learned the error of my ways and that Harmony was the only "true" ship. I have continued to read other ships, but I know where my heart lies (Sometimes for my own amusement I will download a story from another ship and change the names of the main characters to Harry and Hermione if it is not too far fetched).
Anyways to get to why I am posting this. I do not know if this is a challenge or if this fic already exists somewhere. If it does I have not found it yet.
The primary elements of my desired fic take place after Deathly Hallows but before Harry and Hermione settle down as a couple with children of their own.. I don't mind their practicing to have those children in my story, in fact I encourage it (a lot), but I am not a huge second generation fan and I want the story set when they can concentrate on each other (a lot) as they go on with their lives and they encounter various elements of life, such as a university education for at least Hermione.
The best way for me to explain what I am looking for is to provide examples of other stories I have found (at least one of which is the wrong ship, but contain most of what I am looking for):
The closest example I can provide is a story called "A Writer of Fiction" which has the wrong ship, but describes almost exactly the type of life I am looking for with Hermione and Harry. I was hoping this type of story could be written from an adult Harmony perspective. The closest Harmony examples I have found are "Life and Times" which is great (and I hope will be completed) but I would like to see it more from an NC-17 perspective. There is also "Bearings" but it is a pre-Deathly Hallows story.
"A Portrait of a Marriage" would qualify if it only started immediately after DH and provided us with the whole story from there on instead of only (very good ) snippets of Harry's and Hermione's lives (mostly after they have had their children).
The type of story I am looking for would contain the smut of the very good Harmony story "Our Happy Ending, Part Two" (which is another story of the type I am looking for, but is also not completed) and the elements of the other stories I have just mentioned. It would, by its nature, have to be a long story, but I know I do not have the writing skills to write it myself (at least not as a primary writer). What do you say? Does this story already exist somewhere or do any of you think you could write it?
By the way the story I am looking for would never contain an accidental pregnancy. Harry and, especially, Hermione are much too smart to not use contraceptives and this should be mentioned in the story.
