The one thing that Canada noticed about these "family" dinners, was the ridiculous reason behind all of them. From America's pregnancy scare to England's intervention, they were pointless. Still, as long as England wasn't cooking, at least the food was good.
This time however, this was different.
Canada sighed into his plate and looked at his brother to his right. America was hosting this night's family reunion and therefore, sat at the head of the table. If it wasn't for the rarely used serious expression on his face, Canada would have chalked up this dinner with the rest of them. Maybe this time around the gathered for a matter of great importance? He couldn't really say he preferred that.
It was better to be called together because one of them had been put under parole for indecent behavior than news of something that could actually be serious.
Canada bit the inside of his cheek and played with the potatoes on his plate. He really wished that America would tell them what he wanted and be done with making him worry. At this rate, he'd end up like Lithuania.
"Don't play with your food, my dear," France scolded him from across the table. "It is most unbecoming."
"'M sorry," Canada muttered.
Suddenly, America cleared his throat.
"I'm sure you're all wonderin' why I called you up for dinner," he said.
"Yes, yes," England waved off, "Who's the father this time, hm?"
America chuckled weakly. "It's actually kinda important. What I have to say, I mean. It has to do with you, England, but I thought the rest of the family should know."
The three nations sat up, ready to hear devestating news.
"England," he began again. (The mention of his own name caused England to stiffen in his seat and pay even more attention to the following words) "One time when I was little, I had to go the bathroom but couldn't make it so I peed on the floor and blamed it on the rabbit so I wouldn't get in trouble, I am so sorry."
