What Was It Like?
Aang sat on a roof, watching the sunset. He never really cared if the day was ending or not, he just loved to watch the orange and yellow colors. The young monk would always forgive anyone, even if they did the most terrible things. He would even forgive the Fire Nation. After all, they were in the Western Air Temple, and Zuko had just joined the gang. That means that there is still friendliness in the Fire Nation, and he hated to think that people would judge the whole Fire Nation because one of their leaders started the war. Even though the Fire Nation had wiped out his whole population, along with his father figure and friends, he'd still forgive them. After all, the Air Nomads were taught to always forgive, and not to always think of the bad things that people did. About not to judge a nation. And to prove it, he thought that Zuko should've joined the gang while the others didn't think it was a good idea. He really had a belief that Zuko had changed, and he was friendly. Aang heard footsteps behind him, but didn't bother to turn around.
"Hey," Zuko said. Aang grinned, but Zuko didn't see it. Aang wasn't actually grinning at Zuko, but he was in deep thought.
"What're you thinking about?" Aang sat up.
"Hm?" he said. Zuko chuckled.
"You know, I was wondering, you know so much about my culture, but I barely know any of yours," Zuko said. "What was it like?"
Aang scratched his head. "Well, me and my mentor would prank the monks on a daily basis." Zuko looked like he needed to break down laughing. "I mastered airbending when I turned twelve. And told I was the Avatar when I was twelve. The monks knew the war was starting. They were receiving letters from other nations." Aang sighed. "And… around that time, I ran away. With Appa."
Zuko's jaw dropped. "Twelve?! I wasn't even on level three of my training by then! Azula hadn't even mastered firebending either!" Aang shrugged.
"Yes, but I probably had the worst accidents in all of those years." Aang winced at the memory.
"Like what?" Zuko asked. Aang rubbed his chin.
"Well, I fell off of a 260 foot-tall mountain, got whipped by Appa's tail, hm… oh! And I hit face-first into a pole. I airbended myself into a window, which broke when I hit it… yeah, those were the worst ones." Zuko looked at him like he was an alien.
"All I did was burn my finger!" All of the sudden, a blind girl jumped on top of the roof.
"What're you guys talkin' about? I heard that Twinkles fell off a mountain, so I was pretty interested," Toph said.
"That reminds me! I've got to feed Appa. See you guys later!" Aang jumped off the roof and dodged each house with his airbending. When he was walking in front of a pole, Toph used her earthbending to make him crash into it face-first. Meanwhile, Sokka was running towards the scene, saying "SCORE FOR TOPH!" and Katara was screaming from a distance, something like "THAT'S NOT FUNNY!"
