So this came to me because I'm tired of Yuya... yeah. Clearly AU (sadly) and probably not too OOC (sadly).

The prologue will be slightly on the small side... it wont be YurixSerena they, however, will interact in this fic...

Night Queen

~ prologue ~

"Hey... Serena."

The bluenette looked up from her book and at her door. "Who is it?"

"Eh... I know you may not know me that well, but I though you'd remember my voice..."

"Crow-san?" she got up and opened the door. "You shouldn't be here..."

"The Council allowed me to bring the bad news to everyone." the redhead shook his head. "I still can't believe they actually did that..."

"Who did what?" the girl asked, brushing her hair back into it's familiar ponytail. Crow sighed and gave her a piece of paper that she realized was a letter, written in what looked like Yuya's handwriting (she only knew what it looked like because his letter to Yuzu had been passed down from her to Sam - since Yuya saw her first - before it had reached the pinkette) and wondered what what was wrong now.

"Just... read the letter. Akaba is furious."

Serena did as told and looked down, reading out the last couple of lines out loud in disbelief as she stared at it.

'Yuzu and I left for Standard... this is what she wanted and I can't deny her that wish. We will duel the Obelisk Force when they show up so you don't have to worry about us! Yours, Yuya'

"I can't ... believe him." the bluenette's eyebrow twitched. "What will we do now?"

"Akaba will soon assign a new 'leader'... but Yuya was his 'Pendulum ace' so I'm not sure how he will deal with that..."

"That's fine." Serena told him. "We don't need Pendulum to beat the Fusion dimension. I know most of their weak spots."

"What...?" Crow began but before he could finish his sentence, the girl had already left her room in search of Reiji, ignoring all the guards trying to stop her. It was time that somebody stepped up. Even if it had to be her, the black sheep of Fusion.

She clutched the letter in her right hand as she knocked on the door leading to the Council room with her left.
