How amazing it was to walk into the game store and see it there on the shelf. Its cover art dark but very inviting to a six year old with the soul of a Hylian. Link with his intense eyes and a slight smile on his lips. A wolf of some sort behind him staring down into the RATED T FOR TEENS square. The wolf has the same blue eyes as Link. There were intricate designs in the background made of light blue glowing lines in curves dots and diagonals. Almost like from a marching band I've seen once. The top of the case said Nintendo gamecube and had the famous design upon it and there smack in the middle…The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. And the lovely triforce right under it. How amazing it was to march right up to the counter and pay with the money I've been saving up. Smiling as I claimed I didn't need a bag. Not being able to sit still in the car ride home from so much excitement over this beautiful game. Just waiting for it to come out was a nightmare but actually having it in my lap begging me to play it was far worse. Looking over the controls made it a bit better. The combat looked BRUTAL! But then again, that was half of the fun as was exploring in these sort of games. The story was almost an afterthought. But it was always there for you. Once we pulled up to the house I bursted out of the car and to the front door, jumping up and down singing the hyrule field theme.
I ran into the house once the door was open grabbed my green hat that was just like Link's and put on my Mickey mouse jamies. I had my doctor who blanket wrapped around me as I put the disc into the console. I held the controller in my small shaking hands as I listened to intro of beautiful voices. I started the game.
There was link on his horse, Epona. Link looked a bit different in this game. His eyes were the same light blue though. His hair was much more detailed. This whole game was actually. But Link looked very handsome.
I pressed the A and B button like the game said. The loading screen had Zelda's Lullaby playing. A theme i knew very well and begun singing to. I pressed the third file (a small tradition of mine) and adjusted the tv gamma. "Must be a dark game I whispered to myself as the first cutscene started.
