Silence.
It was so quiet now. No sound, save for the rain. The town had gone from vibrant and full of life, to dull and dead.
But the silence held more meaning then any sound.
Eight years old. She had only been eight years old and now she was dead and lying in a pool of blood on the floor of their ruined home.
It wasn't fair.
It should have been him. Everything she did was to make someone else happy. She didn't deserve this.
The silence was deafening.
Maybe it could drown out the sound of his heart breaking. Maybe this was just a nightmare. Maybe he'd wake up soon and give his sister a hug and hey they hadn't gone out for a walk in the woods for a while would you like it if we did that soon, Ami?
Would you like it if we visited the city soon, Ami?
Would you wake up please Ami just wake up I'm sorry I'm so sorry. Please let me wake up I'll be a better brother I love you, Ami. Look, there's Cress. He seems sad, doesn't he? I wonder why.
Maybe he's caught up in the same nightmare that we are.
