Draco seemed more jittery than normal, even for all his aversion to baking and the heat involved.
Shaking aside her errant thoughts, Hermione returned to the task of decorating cupcakes in her cozy kitchen with her boyfriend.
When he suddenly got down on one knee with a proffered cupcake, she thought it was another bout of silliness. But, spotting the ring nestled on top and hearing his words, she soon realized that he was making the sweetest proposal.
There was only one thing to do.
Smiling radiantly, and snatching the cupcake from her soon-to-be fiancé, Hermione proclaimed, "I'll have my cake…and you, too."
A/N: Just a brief scene, due to my inability to commit to longer term projects. An approximately 100-word story based off the characters created by JK Rowling to mark my first attempt at contributing to the HP fandom! (And written with minimal editing while I should be asleep...)
At first I wanted Draco to charm the cupcake into a functional, if unconventional, ring box…but that was a bit too much for the 100-word length I had in mind. Maybe next time hehe.
