Alaine took in a deep breath. The water in the stream was rushing quite fast today. Not mentioning that it was at least 50 degrees outside. "Well,"
She thought, "it could be worse." She stepped in , and suddenly , her body filled with shivers and goosebumps. "I've got to get that necklace!" She
said. Alaine was 12 years of age , the height of 5 '7 , and very healthy. She grabbed the silver chain of the necklace , pulled it out of the freezing
water , and let the violet gemstone rest on her palm. Her dark brown hair lay on her shoulders. Alaine had never known her parents. She was an
orphan child , found by a horrible old lady who treated her like dirt. She escaped when she was 7 , living in the wilderness with only 2 things to
remember her parents from. Her necklace , and a book. Not just any book , it was titled , "The Xiaolin Dragons of China". She loved this book and
read it every day , her baby blue eyes traveling carefully across the pages . There were 5 monks. A black haired , Japanese girl named Kimiko. She
was the Dragon of Fire. A yellow , big headed , bald dude named Omi , he was the Dragon of Water. A buff , blond headed guy named Clay , who had
the same colored eyes of Alaine. A bright baby blue...he was the Dragon of Earth. A brunette named Raimundo , who had the power of wind. And
Alaine's personal favorite , Haley. She had long , dark brown hair and beautiful bluish-green eyes , she was the Dragon of Nature. She loved reading
about the many adventures of the monks. It was a big book , and she had read it more than 30 times.
She went into her shelter , a big tree house in the woods , and plopped down on the bed , made of hay leaves and sticks. It was very comfortable.
She immediately fell asleep in the moonlight , it had been a long day and she was tired. And that's when the storm clouds came in.
She bolted out of bed. It was storming. Thunder and lighting boomed in the sky , and it was pouring rain. She took shelter under her bed.
"It'll be over soon." She thought. Suddenly , lightning came down and struck the top of the tree house , taking the roof completely off. "Okay,
maybe not." She heard a strong wind , a very strong wind , coming from outside. She ran to her window and saw a tornado , coming straight for
her. "HOLY CRAP!" She screamed as she grabbed her necklace and her book and bolted under the bed. She felt herself being lifted up , and
that was it , before she blacked out , completely.
