Drabble #1: Why Her?

Summary: A slighted Fiore. A slice of his thoughts.

The girl. Always the girl.

He knows I'm here, watching him. I can see it in his rigid shoulders, the deliberate tilt of his head. He won't acknowledge me of course. Not even a glance. I know his indomitable self-control.

What I don't understand is that girl. What is she? To be able to ensnare his loyalty, his love, so completely, all that he'd promised me… What devilry is it that she possesses?

His arms enfold her, a calculated gesture ordering me to give up. My heart responds in agony, collapsing on itself, and my own arms stiffen.

I can't.
