Aneko: Okay so I lied. This is not the multi-chap. fic I said I was putting up. This idea came to me at about eleven o' clock last night, and what can I say? How can you pass up mid-night plot bunnies?

Fairy Tales and Feathers
Once upon a time there was a writer and a duck.
The writer is no more than a boy- a young man at most- and the duck seems just a duckm though her eyes hint at something more.
The writer had moved from the town they used to live, a reminder of the story they are now the forgotten remnants of. If anyone were to come upon the two, that is all they would find; but looking closely, one could see a tale told from their eyes alone. A tale of hope and despair, happiness and sadness, love and hate.
After all, the duck is not just a duck, and the writer is not just a writer.
Once upon a time, the duck became a girl; and that girl devoted her life to returning a Prince's heart to him. She gave all she had, and thus became a "plain old duck" once again.
And once upon a time, the writer was a knight, who tried his hardest to keep the Prince's heart from returning, because he didn't want his friend to be in pain. He is a writer now, because he accepted that the Prince wanted his heart returned, and he had found that he has more power in pen than with a sword.
Together, they ended a story happily, which should, by all means, have ended in tragedy.
You can still see the fear of a tragedy in the writer's eyes, for his powers could cause a tragedy as well, if he is not careful. The duck is at ease, though, because she trusts and believes in the writer. Gradually she is affecting the writer, and eventually his scars will fade.
While the duck is at ease, however, she is not happy. There is too much of the memory of the girl, for her to be happy with being just a duck again.
The writer is learning to control his power of making his stories become reality. He writes many stories, too many to count, but they all end happily. He has seen too much tragedy to make that mistake.
He sees the duck suffering daily, and writes all the more, so that one day he night be able to turn her human again. But he is afraid, and does not tell her, because he does not want to fail her.
So they stay, a writer with his stories, and a duck, who is a "plain old duck." And for now, that's all they are.
Aneko: Hope I managed to get the point across. Ja, sayonara.
