First Fairy Tail drabble. Based on the song "Gotta Be Somebody" by Coldplay.
She had been alone as long as she could remember. Alone with the rain as her only companion. The constant pitter patter to wash away her tears. Her parents had left at the children's home. Their clothes soaked and their hair matted to their heads. They barely gave an apologetic smile to the matron as they pressed the infant into her arms. Not even a chaste kiss to the babe's forehead as the rushed away from the downpour.
The other children would not play with her, wouldn't come near her. They left her behind, but she always heard the whispered words. She saw the harsh eyes that strayed her way. She knew she was as unwanted as the rain that fell continually around her. She hated being alone with only the pitter patter of the rain to keep her company.
Season did not change for her. Spring did not turn to hot summer days. Fall to did not shift into the cold kiss of winter. She saw not the flowers grow nor the flowers wither and die. She only saw the world through a curtain of rain. Always rain, yet she changed and yet she grew. And she gave her all to him. Even when the rain fell harder and faster. Even when it stung her like a thousand needles. She gave everything she had to him. She just wanted to feel as if someone cared. Her rain had never fell harder than the day he had walked away from her. Did he not know that this was who she is? The pitter patter and the drip drop. No! She didn't want to be alone! There has got to be somebody for her out there.
She held her breath as she stared at him through the was this pitter patter in her heart? Could it rain inside of her as well? She wanted to walk away from him, to save him from the chaos and torment that Phantom Lord would inflict upon this pathetic guild. He was fascinating with the way he could freeze her rain and have it drop to the ground like tiny crystals. The twinkling sound as the hit floor fell nicely on her ears. But he was just like the others complaining about her constant and only companion. The one thing-even if she hated it- that she could count on to be there for her. She raged and she rampaged. She cried as she screamed out,not wanting to be alone. It was his cold touch that froze her. Stayed her in her place. It was then she decided not to give up, she was sure he had been the one she was looking for. She was going to hold on. She hated being the last one, always watching life from the sidelines. And now she had found somebody to be beside her. She was no longer alone.
