Hello. This is an entry for TCGeek's contest so..... yeah enjoy

"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound," Angie sang softly, gazing over the body of the deceased man. It was a tradition of her's, But fortunately not something she had to do often, to sing a hymn for any patient who died in the same O.R. as her.

"That saved a soul like me...." She didn't know why she bothered. It wasn't like the dead man could hear.

"I once was lost but now am found," She refused to admit the true reason for her singing, to comfort the still living. Partially, a certain brunette surgeon, for whom the patient's death shook more then anyone else.

"Was blind, but now, I see." Her efforts were in vain since said surgeon had already stormed out of the Operating Room. Probably to go cry in a corner some where.

But Angie just kept singing.

Derek sat in the conference room staring at his hands. His head knew that he had done all he could and then some, but his heart insisted he could have done better. This silent battle was tearing him apart form the inside out and ebbing away at his soul.

"T'was Grace that taught, my heart to fear." Angie voice, scarcely above a whisper drew his attention from his internal battle.

"And Grace, my fears relieved" Slowly Derek stood up and walked back into the O.R.

"How precious did that Grace appeared." Gently a hand found it's way into hers. She gasped losing her place in the song. Derek smiled slightly and sang.

"The hour I first..."

"Believed" They sang together

"Through many dangers, toils and snares...

we have already come.

T'was Grace that brought us safe thus far...

and Grace will lead us home.

The Lord has promised good to me...

His word my hope secures.

He will my shield and portion be...

as long as life endures.

When we've been here ten thousand years...

bright shining as the sun.

We've no less days to sing God's praise...

then when we've first begun.

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,

That saved a soul like me....

I once was lost but now am found,

Was blind, but now, I see."

I have no idea where this come from. especially since I'm not Christian.
